Both injured I believe. Portales was proving to be a very good player.

Israel And The Palestinians (now with added Iran)
Shadow Play replied to xbl's topic in The General Nonsense Forum
Sagiv Jehezkel who plays for Antalyaspor in Turkey was detained and thereafter released pending trial after he held up his bandaged hand with the words “100 days. 7/10” written on the bandage during a goal celebration. Turkey’s minister said an investigation has been launched due to the players “ugly action supporting Israel’s massacre in Gazza” -
Apologies if my comment about United spending as many seasons in the Championship as the Premiership over the last decade has upset you. In fairness to yourself I am only assuming it has upset you judging by the tone and content of your reply. Again, apologies if my comment did not upset you and that’s simply the usual way you respond.

Are you not worried that if Barnsley are unsuccessful in their bid for McCowan they will come calling for a St Johnstone player? -

Exactly this. If you’re known as a club that folds quickly when the bidding for a player starts you’re always going to get low offers. Time to stand firm and leave them in no doubt only big / silly money would secure a sale. McCowan has been outstanding this season. I don’t think it’s any coincidence that he has finally found consistency the season Doc arrives as manager. -

Surely nobody is claiming it is a foul on Holt. Even Holt doesn’t claim for a foul. If anything Holt has a wild swipe at Oakley. I always thought a major weakness in Holt’s game was he didn’t like it when things got physical. -

First thing first. Congratulations to Morton. I’m being told it was tactically an extremely disciplined performance by Morton with a fair bit of attacking ability thrown in. If I could interrupt the celebrations just for a moment please - how did French do? -

As long as it doesn’t look like a Hi-Vis jacket nobody will think it’s tangerine coloured so you should be ok. -

I think @RandomGuy. prefers a pie chart but a very good effort nevertheless. -

You are correct. It’s not often a Premiership fixture gets called off at Tannadice. -

No contact but there were pools of water on my grass this morning at 7am when it was still raining heavily. I’ve got a decent gardener as well so I’m inclined to think there really has been a lot of rain recently. -

Absolutely gutted about Beck but I wish him all the very best. I just have to remind myself that some birds aren’t meant to be caged. Their feathers are just too bright and when they fly away the part of you that knows it was a sin to lock them up does rejoice. But still, the place you live in is that much more drab and empty now that they’re gone. I guess I just miss our friend. * *there may be a bit of plagiarism involved in this post which I really shouldn’t do ‘cause there’s always someone, somewhere with a big nose who knows and who trips you up and laughs when you fall…….. -
Dundee FC New Stadium Thread
Shadow Play replied to jamamafegan's topic in Scottish Premiership General Chatter
It’s obviously a subject you feel very strongly about given you have taken the time to create an account just to post this. My thoughts on the matter? It sounds like it would be best for the club for the new stadium to go ahead and for that reason I hope it does succeed. If it doesn’t go ahead I’m more than happy attending Dens every second weekend. Regardless, thank you for your interest in the affairs of Dundee FC. -
Are you looking for a quartz or automatic watch? Most watch enthusiasts prefer an automatic but a quartz is generally more accurate and convenient if you don’t wear your watch regularly. Best advice I can give is to go for something you like. Not something you feel you should like after reading reviews. Also, the more classic the design the least likely it will ever go out of style (think Rolex Submariner or an Omega Speedmaster). You don’t mention your budget, and, if you believe nothing else I say, the prices can get scary pretty quickly! Off the top of my head here are the watches I prefer in the various price brackets. Under £100: Casio F91 - a classic and absolute bargain. Under £500: Seiko GMT / Tissot PRX Under £1,000: Tissot PRX Powermatic 80 Under £2,000: Oris Sixty-Five / Tudor Royal (it’s actually slightly over £2k) Under £5,000: Tudor BB58 / Tudor Pelagos 39 / Cartier Tank / Omega Aquaterra Under £10,000: Rolex Submariner / Rolex Explorer/ Cartier Santos / Omega Speedmaster Under £100,000: Rolex Daytona (platinum) / Patek Philippe Aquanaut / Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Good luck with whatever you chose and remember to keep us updated.

Fair play to you Jinky for taking the time and discussing all this at length. Realistically, as you have suggested, I take your point it could be difficult / dangerous for the average fan to directly challenge the fans causing the issue. Here’s a suggestion - I’m not long back from the dentist so maybe I’m still in shock and the idea is completely flawed but what better place than P&B to discuss it though: Every time league officials note significant offensive chanting from away fans the next time the same club plays at the same venue their fans are barred BUT the away club still have to financially compensate the home club to the same value of tickets that were sold for the original tie. Sounds radical but the message would soon get out and who knows, maybe it would allow more families to attend certain games in the knowledge they will not be subjected to verbal nonsense from the away stand.
