  1. Considering he was a sub for quite some time I think Ashcroft has done a pretty decent job recently. I would imagine this is a way of trimming costs as it looks quite a relatively large squad now. It would presumably also allow Ashcroft the chance of a regular game.
  2. I hope you’re not complaining. It gave you a chance to buy a t-shirt that I would imagine is still in near pristine condition, a commemorative poster and have a few drinks with your mates abroad.
  3. As I’ve previously stated 3 or 4 seconds is factually incorrect. I’m always perplexed when people can’t accept something which can be accurately measured. In fact I’d go as far as to say it’s humiliating.
  4. I don’t think there is any point in arguing with you with regards to your interpretation of the incident as I doubt you will change your mind. What I can assure you is that it was longer than 3 or 4 seconds. If you don’t believe me, watch it again and time it.
  5. At a number of goal kicks your keeper shouted at one of your players to get their attention and once that was achieved he gave them a thumbs up. He thereafter proceeded to do the exact same to another player. At one goal kick he did it to three players. Only then did he slowly begin to take the goal kick. By my assessment I don’t think that has anything to do with the pitch. You may of course assess those actions differently. It was noticeable that when 2-1 down your keeper simply got on with things in an extremely efficient manner. ETA just read your stat post about number of steps. Superb -although I’d like some independent verification of them…
  6. Is Stuart Cosgrove a headline writer for the BBC? A win for Dundee it most certainly was. A derby it most certainly is not. We have United. Saints have Jeanfield Swifts.
  7. Yes, I can understand why Adam shouldn’t have been so honest in the interview. I wonder if it was the physicality of the Scottish Premiership Costelloe was shying away from? From my very limited viewings of Costelloe there is definitely a skilful player in there but I am not convinced he likes the physical side of the game. He certainly doesn’t appear to like getting close to a player when defending.
  8. Yes, I saw that. Probably did it due to all the stick he was getting from the St Johnstone fans every time he touched the ball. Why is Costelloe so disliked by the Saints fans? It seemed the abuse he was getting was over and above what an ex player who didn’t spend very much time at the club usually gets. In fact I would have thought they’d be delighted he had left given how bad they say he is
  9. I doubt too many people genuinely thought it was going to actually happen to be fair. If Dundee win the game in hand we will have increased our lead over St Johnstone further. If we don’t win it, after the additional 14 games you’ve played since the table you posted you will have closed the gap by 1 point. That’s with your new manager bounce as well.
  10. Was that another calamity by Carson or did it take a deflection?
  11. I’m assuming when he said “I needed so much more…” followed by “he used to chase me” & “How he would bore” is a play on the The Stone Roses 2nd (and one of their greatest) single “Sally Cinnamon” which has the lines I needed so much more Rain clouds oh, they used to chase me Down they would pour If you haven’t heard the song I would suggest you give it a listen, if only for the opening guitar riff. Now, ask me a question on footie / fitba / soccer.
  12. To clarify the point I made. My reference to Dodgeson and Kerr was simply in the context of them both being defenders making obvious mistakes. I am certainly not “doe eyed” over Kerr as I recall one poster thinks some fans are about Kerr. In my original post I did temper my criticism of Dodgeson by acknowledging that is was “perhaps unfair seeing as he is hopefully still settling in”. Any criticism was more out frustration than anything else after Dodgeson made three errors (the attempt to play offside being the worse) that led to us conceding three important goals in back to back games. If Doc has seen something in Dodgeson’s ability I’m hopeful, dare I say, confident Dodgeson will improve. Regardless of the above I think the team is definitely missing Portales and Lamie.
  13. To be fair the COVID years threw up a lot of anomalies. So much so Rangers even won the league……..
  14. Looking at the current 10 team leagues as mentioned by TheScarf - 7 out of the current 18 leagues of 10 or less are countries that formed part of the Soviet Union. I wonder what an old Soviet league table actually looked like? By my calculation there are 18 leagues of 10 or less and 37 of 12 or more out of the 55 UEFA member countries - yes that’s how bored I am
  15. Judging by the latest news it looks like he may never be traced.
  16. A rasher of bacon, a sausage, a fried egg and some mushrooms walk up to the bar. Barman said “I’M SORRY. WE DON’T SERVE BREAKFAST IN HERE.”
  17. Agreed. Doesn’t look like anyone thinks Dodgeson is an improvement on Kerr. Given how bad some people on here said Kerr was surely it would be incredibly easy to find a better replacement? Unless of course he wasn’t as bad as some made out he was.
  18. As our resident statistician has any other club over the course of 12 games ever previously managed to get 1 point closer to another club? - assuming we win the game in hand.
  19. From what I can gather he’s not fast, he’s not tall and he’s not really a prolific goalscorer either. I can only hope he will get better as he gets fitter. Also, genuine question that is perhaps unfair seeing as he is hopefully still settling in. Does anyone genuinely think Dodgeson has improved the team over and above Kerr?
