  1. This. I like Lawless as a player, think he tries and his footballing brain is miles better than most other players which is a problem as they're standing still when he's looking for movement. However, I've seen little to nothing so far that confirms he should be captain.
  2. I emailed Drew Main this morning and I've got to say I'm delighted with how quickly he responded. Must've been enough people do it given the change in stance. Quitongo has a nasty habit of scoring against us. McHugh has popped up with goals against us. Surprised about Murray although I didn't know he played for QP until I looked at the squad on Saturday so that backs up your assessment. Will score now.
  3. Aye we did look good that evening against Thistle. Bit of a false reflection tbh. I think the first leg will be tight with it all to be played for in the second leg, can see 1-0/2-1 to either team on Wednesday night. No chance we show a difference in class and kill this in the first leg, we're utter shite. Probably even more so when the pressure is on. We would normally travel well to these type of games but given the two half arsed performances against Thistle and Queens, the fact it's bck to Firhill and ticket pricing for the home legs I think it'll be a reduced support. Fans are pretty annoyed with the club atm. If we go into Saturday's game down by more than one goal the second leg will be poorly supported also. The Pars board could have came out, got the the fans back on side, discounted tickets with a plea to try and get the place packed but they haven't bothered their arses so neither will the fans.
  4. Well there was no desire to watch them. Usually if we win the social media people are teasing goals from midnight on the Saturday night and the full highlights normally follow on the Sunday morning. I've just checked and we posted highlights at 10:36am on Saturday morning after a Friday night 7:45pm kick off game, I'd say that's a fairly normal turnaround time especially when no one wants to watch them.
  5. I actually pinged a message over to one of the SLO's this morning about this. With all the "positive" things going on off the pitch I thought we'd see massive improvements with our communications to the fans. The social media comms has been atrocious for a long time now, no enthusiasm, just the same old copy and paste rubbish week in week out. I thought the Germans were all about fair ticket pricing in Germany? Surely they know the benefits that can be made by reducing the prices. I'd love to think the club will revisit the prices and try and get the stadium packed out but they're a stubborn bunch.
  6. Exactly. A massive own goal by the club but we're not surprised by this utter shite anymore.
  7. I had a quick check of their team on Saturday and was quite surprised at how many recognisable players they had. McHugh, Murray & Quintongo sounds like enough fire power to cause our shitebags a problem. In all honesty despite how shite we've been I'd like to think we'll do enough to win over the two legs providing we don't collapse this midweek. Playing your lot is a different kettle of fish, good players, unbeaten for a large number of games and full of confidence.
  8. Highlights - slim pickings but the 1-2 win up at ICT in Yogi’s first game, followed by a 3-0 home win against Ayr, we played brilliant and I thought that was our season staring. Probably not embarrassing ourselves against Raith. They battered us a couple of times last season but didn’t land a glove in our worst season in a long time. Lowlights - I mean it’s all been terrible but I’ll start with Peter fucking Grant getting appointed in May, a sign of things to come, the man no one wanted at the club. First game since pre-pandemic for me was our first league home game of the season against Thistle, chipper about getting back but as I walked through the turnstile I heard “scorer for Partick Thistle”. Wasn’t even in the stadium yet. Again, a sign of things to come. Signing about a million centre halfs and only one of them actually being any good. Letting Craig Wighton go out on loan to a team chasing promotion. I could go on but I fear the worst is yet to come. Friday was particularly bad but we knew there was potential for that as it was out of our hands, I was back in the pub before the second half had kicked off. Won’t be traveling to Firhill on Wednesday as I was there last week and it’s a sandy shitehole, I also think there’s a fair chance we might lose. Bad memories of the last time we ended up in league 1 via the playoffs. A win away to Thistle would have kept us up but they equalised in the 98th minute. Then we just needed a win at home to already relegated Airdrie and lost 1-2. First playoff game we lost 3-1 to Forfar then beat them 6-2 at East End before shitting the bed against Alloa, can see history repeating itself here. Either Peter Grant Jr, Stewart Petrie or fucking Airdrie are going to kill us off and we’ve just to wait to see who gets my lowlight of the year award.
  9. Anyone know who won the Lifeline half time draw on Friday? Usually posted somewhere but haven’t seen anything.
  10. You should get parked no bother in the streets of Garvock. Will struggle on Halbeath Road but Garvock’s a relatively big area with plenty street parking. Alternatively there’s a proper car park called Leys Park Road situated on the other side of Aldi from East End, it was being used as a covid testing drive through centre but I think that’s finished, limited spaces though. Right back to who’s shitter…
  11. Think I might have started this last night, hadn’t heard it in a while so went for it.
  12. Our PR/Marketing etc is absolutely w**k and has been for years. Hopefully the new CEO who's all about that kind of stuff has some ideas.
  13. Ross Graham nominated for young player of the year in Scotland. Are there two Ross Graham's, the guy honestly looked like he'd never played football before at the start of the season. He's now played a handful of games against better opposition and is nominated for an award. Is it our coaches, are we incapable of managing/coaching players?
  14. When did we last have midfielders that would get stuck in, Geggs, Falkinham, probably? Would love a couple of midfielders next season who can play a bit but can get stuck in, although I'm sure everyone does.
  15. Aye, Tuesday, Saturday, Tuesday, Sunday. Final is Sunday 15th of May should we be involved.
  16. Saturday was a shit show but I think we'll continue our decent home record and win this one pretty convincingly. I'd be worried McCall rests some Thistle players for the playoffs. The boy Tiffoney came of against us at HT so it's unlikely he'll play to that he has a better chance of the playoffs. My gut is telling me that despite Thistle's potential to rest players it'll finish 1-1 at Somerset. If we don't win then I'm really worried about the playoffs. We certainly have more quality but we're playing against teams full of confidence. Something we lack.
  17. He'd have done well to impress you against Killie considering he didn't play with them being his parent club.
  18. Any idea what the gym in the SE corner of the ground is going to be used for once it moves to the new training base?
  19. This doesn't reflect my view but I think he'll be remembered for a lot of the bad things unfortunately. Some sections of our support have a face and a name to take aim at but don't see the things he's done behind the scenes for a number of years. Don't get me wrong, some of the calls have been bizarre like AJ's two year deal, being trigger happy on the statement's gun, appointing PG and allowing him to be in charge for as long as he was but there's been some good moments too. I hope after time he's back in the stands as a fan like he was before. I've met him a couple of times when volunteering at EEP in the summer to paint changing rooms, tunnel area etc and he was there getting stuck in with everyone else, a good bloke. The next two weekends (hopefully only two) are purely about staying in the division. It would be nice to hear from the new CEO and Germans soon after to hear their review on the season, what they want from next season and what they'll be doing to get the fans back on board. I feel in the last 5 or so years the club to fan interaction has dropped. I may be wrong, maybe it's just from my point of view. I know COVID has had a major impact over the last two years and performances on the pitch haven't helped attendances etc. The year we won league 1 the buzz about the place on match day and even the days building up was great. I popped into Charlie D's a couple of times pre match this season and it was quite a quiet place compared to the way it used to be, still busy but not much craic.
  20. This. I remember the journey back from this game saying we just had to beat already relegated Airdrie, Ryan Wallace could have scored 5 that day and I don't think he scored any. Was that the year we lost 3-1 up at Forfar then beat them 6-2 in a mental game at East End, think they got 2/3 men sent off.
  21. One month today until the Championship playoff final second leg, wonder if we'll be in it.
  22. I'm surprised we went out or way to pay a fee for him when we did, but he's not a bad footballer. Very composed on the ball, was certainly better than we had at the time.
  23. Oddly I'd always take being involved at either end of the table over meaningless. It comes with more anxiety but if you win/stay up it creates brilliant memories, feelings etc. If you lose/get relegated then I find it also brings a bit of togetherness at the club. Now obviously I'd rather be fighting for the title but I'm so looking forward to this weekends game, plus the two to follow because it matters so much.
