Walking Down The Halbeath Road
The Toun Clock replied to Parscelona's topic in Scottish Championship General Chatter
I noticed a thread on .net this evening talking about another player leaving on Monday. No mention of names but the OP suggests it’s all over social media and from a reliable source. I couldn’t see anything. Would stick money on it being Cole, Jones or Dorrans. The first two haven’t been seen for weeks yet I don’t recall them being announced as injured. Dorrans did get injured against Raith so I’m sure that’s why he’s been missing. -

I'm sure we will. Point I was trying to make was that there's been no updates. Even an update to say we've made a little progress, we're viewing this land, we're doing this etc would be good. Little updates will be welcomed news to fans, the longer nothing is said about it the more you start to wonder if it'll happen. -

Doesn't sound good in terms of us ignoring them. Rosyth would have been good, handy to the bridge as I'd assume most of our players will travel from outside Dunfermline. Lochgelly isn't a million miles away but not exactly ideal. Tbh if we can get it going I don't care where they build it. Some comms from the club would be good around this. We keep hearing ideas and plans what the new board want to do but at the moment it's all fart no sh*te. -

I think it might be a good introduction tbh. Hold on ref, I'm just getting my shouty booing overalls on. -

I'm 25 minutes in and it keeps getting better. Completely agree with what you've said, I'm sure there's a PSC meeting being planned, we don't want something like this happening. It can be avoided! -

Not 100% sure Craig but at East End the away fans still change in our away end, the substitutes are all spaced out in the bottom tier of the main stand and players are still wearing masks on arrival. Could just be something Dunfermline are doing if the majority of our team aren't vaccinated. -

I imagine Falkirk fans will be receiving the Simpson's meme baton and taking it over to their thread? -
I suspect that draws won't save PG much longer going by the statement a fortnight ago so we need a win on the board and quickly. I don't think Thistle have a great team but have some good individuals like Bannigan, Docherty and Tiffoney, plus a really good manager in McCall. Saying that, they're certainly a lot better than us as it stands, so can see a fairly close encounter with Thistle edging it 2-0/2-1.

Aye I always recall him barking like a dog for 90 minutes when he was the Alloa manager. Don’t see him out in the technical area much although it may just be my view that is the issue. I do see Shields out barking at players. -

A lot of rumours circulating social media and .net that he went on holiday during the international break after being told that wasn’t allowed. Good riddance if true, completely back the club on this one if that does turn out to be true. Unless the club allowed players time off then that’s not acceptable. Not like we’re flying high, top of the league. -

I'm not too concerned. Was decent last season playing along side Euan Murray but was at fault plenty this season, a bit like Lee Ashcroft when Callum Morris left, (I know his defensive partners were hopeless) but Connolly is far better. If Vytas is injured I'm sure Breen will do fine, if not one of the other 300 defenders we have. Not Ross Graham though. -

Not 100% but I sense there's something in there. He wasn't in the squad a couple of weeks ago and when PG was asked why he said that Watson was not injured but not available or something along those lines, so I think there's been a falling out. Watson did do an interview after one of the early heavy defeats where he seemed to be throwing PG under the bus a bit. -

Paul Watson's contract terminated. Thought this might happen, definitely a falling out with PG. -

Aye we got a draw with a better team so Simpson memes have had to be put on the shelf until at least 16:55 on Saturday following our inevitable pumping by Thistle. Then they can resume. -

Saturday was a weird one. I was expecting a comfortable away win but Killie weren't up to much, happy we fought back and there was definitely some more fight and desire than we had in recent games but lets be honest, it still wasn't great. We resorted to pumping long balls and the fans were getting a bit fed up but by luck one paid off, which is rare. A lot of people getting all teary at our "best performance of the season" but with all due respect we're now 9 games in, our best performance of the season being a home draw, 9 games in with no wins is a bloody shambles for most clubs, let alone a team who were supposed to be challenging for the title. As soon as we scored the second I knew that meant PG was getting more time. I stood and clapped them off the park but it's hard to really be fired up because there's little improvement. If that game finished 2-2 but all goals were scored in the first half I don't think it would have got the same reaction, it was purely the drama of the last gasp goal that fired up the fans. The saddest thing for me was how empty the stands were. I was in the North stand and it's sometimes hard to get a feel for how quiet it is if the area around you is busy-ish, but looking at the photo someone took from the main stand shows exactly how empty the Norrie and North stands were. -

Aye I have zero ill feeling towards Grant, just the wrong man at the wrong time and unfortunately facing the brunt of fans frustration over the last 3/4 seasons. Yes he talks utter sh*te but I actually quite liked that at the start, was a bit different and if he could have backed it up we'd probably be lapping up his interviews but when you're about to go into the final game of the first quarter, no wins on the board and rock bottom of the table it won't wash. PG made a rod for his own back saying we would be fighting for the title. In all honesty playoffs would have been suffice for me this season, if we were currently sitting mid table I'd be fairly happy as long as we were competitive and showing signs of improvement but I just don't see it. Randomly I see tomorrow as our only chance to get something from the next 4. I think we might raise our game, get a point but it still won't be good enough. Can see us lose away to Thistle and Arbroath. Maybe sneak another point from Raith but that's it. The next game I could realistically see us win is Morton at home. -

It could be taken out of context, wouldn't be the first outrageous headline that was but Alan Temple talks of PG being a good guy so can't see him making him chucking him under the bus. Following the statement from the BOD last week things were probably best left alone until the Killie game, no silly interviews and just the basics, however this is just bizarre. Yes mathematically we can still win the league but it would require all 9 other teams to have a really crap period between now and Christmas and us not missing a step, then for us to be consistently bettering their results until the end of the season. I genuinely don't know where our first win is coming from let alone enough to get us back in the mix. -
