  1. Prediction: The game will get snowed out after I've driven over and set up all the equipment.
  2. Couple minutes of madness happened. We were good today but failed to do the thing that great teams can do... kill the game. Andy said almost exactly what I said in the disappointed atmosphere of the Alloa press box... coming up as soon as I get my dinner. In tech news, my connection at the club...
  3. Preaching to the choir. Unfortunately looks like we'll be stuck with it for a while yet with the broadcasting contracts running to pretty much the end of the decade now.
  4. Saturday 6th January will probably be a PPV against QoS. Our game against Edinburgh will be. For some reason Scotland has an exemption that day but England doesn't (so no watching from English IP addresses. Awkward when my phone thinks I live in central London.)
  5. I don't think you get the prize money in a lump sum. It's regular payments throughout the year and topped up at the end with the difference. It would suit Alloa having dropped 5 points so far to Edinburgh for them to fold but I have my doubts they'll be going anywhere. They'll just drastically cut the cloth and get through with the bare minimum and kids. Most if not all of their player budget will be alleviated in January so unless they've royally miscalculated they'll be a League 2 side restarting next year.
  6. Thank you. We've had a leased line* at the club that makes me think 4k uploads for midnight might be possible in the near future... *Although the thing that really hurts my soul we got an internet 'upgrade' last month that's turned 66mbps upload into 16mbps upload. Do get a ridiculous 200mbps download - I need to ask if there's something wrong that upload is so low. Streaming in 4k would need a new capture card, probably a newer laptop and a new configuration on AWS, I've just not looked at it in years because what I've got works and I've forgotten how to set it up... That's forgetting I'm shooting on a Sony a6400 in 1080p50 (it does 4k 30 but frames > resolution) which I think is a bit of a limiting factor just now. An a6700 is a great step up and already have the compatible lens... or I'll really go all in for a FX3 and a £2k full frame power zoom lens. At that point I'll be content with what I have I think
  7. Only if you give us some free points once you've won the league. Cove, Hamilton, and Falkirk could all be dead rubbers by the time we get there at the end of the season. We might need those points.
  8. I've been at Hamilton and it shakes like mad up there. Especially if you have a standing commentary team. I tend to sit and try to keep still. Don't imagine it's helped by the strong winds. You're spoiled by the concrete platform to film from at TFS - you can mitigate the movement to an extent. The other issue is just the focus. Yes the resolution is 1080p but because it's slightly out of focus with the rain it's just a blur. 1080p50 is also not massively great at movement. It's just ok these days.. Check out Stranraer's highlights for some incredibly sexy 4k footage. You can see the individual frames are like crystal. Streaming at 4k won't happen any time soon and to edit 4k video quickly you need to spend more money on your editing rig or just accept it'll take longer so I'll not be doing it for a bit. Missing goals happens but you have got an individual operator though so you lose points for that. I've got an excuse of a stream, replays, live chat and commentary to multi-task.
  9. Okay I will laugh at this though. Thrown the highlights out with a minute of black screen. The dangers of doing things too quick
  10. Got to give it grudgingly to Stenhousemuir for starting the argument tbh. Still beat them for the first 10pm full highlight regulars. Was hoping to have a monopoly for a little longer.
  11. Barring the late drama would've been a game to forget for me. Cove had a good ten minutes. We then had a good ten minutes, which culminated in Burrell's really tidy run and finish for the goal against the run of play. It felt very bogged down in midfield for long periods but credit to the boys second half especially, we used the ball better than Cove did and limited them to very little going forward while winning the midfield battle. I've seen us get nothing plenty of times with more chances created but it's a good move for the equaliser and a consecutive run of miskicks for the last minute tap in for Taggs. It was deserved on the balance of the game.
  12. Fairly convinced Falkirk should've called the bluff originally. Hamilton planning on turning away their biggest gate of the season is just a bit daft. They'd have relented as they have now and Falkirk would have made their PR blunder even bigger, and made it even more toxic on Saturday which should be a cracker of an atmosphere already.
  13. Like I say I've watched plenty of Hamilton games too. I don't think they are as impressive as Falkirk have been ie - the eye test has been applied. Not just looking at a table.
  14. Unfortunately for you thinking of doing a Hamilton and just not putting the effort in.
  15. Based on my instincts on football? Assume this is quite a simple calculation of xG vs xG against per game, but Wyscout's xPoints algorithm thinks you're almost 12 points better off than you should be too.
  16. By comparison Edinburgh last season were overachieving to be sitting second at new years. I don't expect you to maintain the same level of point scoring. I don't expect you to fall away as dramatically either but I think currently your points in the bank is painting a 'false' picture.
  17. I usually put the games on Wyscout when I have a quiet Sunday. In terms of minutes watched I've probably watched more League 1 football than anyone but the most keen analysts.
  18. I wouldn't have given a penalty but I wouldn't have booked O'Hara either.
  19. Can only echo the comments that Hamilton are overachievers. It was galling to lose out on the first meeting and today it was just as sore not to come away with a win. Rode their luck heavily with some of the chances they conceded and didn't ask us an awful lot of questions.
