    Very disappointing on 2 counts.

We've become used to the Recs being bomb-proof to the weather except for exceptional circumstances. It didn't start snowing until around 6am and only amounted to approx 1 inch. In the past that would have been handled easily with a small tractor pulling a large brush. It hasn't rained for a while, so there is no ice embedded in the turf. From the pic above it appears that no effort was made to make it playable and no announcement from the club that it was trying to do so.

The assessment comes from the ground staff if they can make the pitch and surrounds safe in the space of 5 hours. They've got plenty of experience of doing it previously and know better than anyone else. The forecast on Friday morning from the BBC was for us to dodge the snow which often happens. If there was more warning I'd imagine someone could've been in earlier to work on it but hindsight often comes too late. Pitch certainly had more than an inch of snow and the roundabout area was a skating rink despite both being gritted the night previous.

Players don't like weekend cancellations as part-time clubs are not at their best for midweek replays. So the club are not doing their best to ensure the succes of the team which is a terrible nonsense accusation

    FTFY

Annan, famously full-time, will have a hotel booked to ensure they are in the best position to take points against us and won't be travelling from the borders. There is a new manager, a club legend taking the team now. Nicest guy you'll ever meet and you are insinuating the club are passively trying to sabotage his (and their own) potential success?  There's a really hopeful energy from the past couple weeks, despite the potential blip of the Edinburgh game. I was speaking to Robbo and Hetherington on Saturday at Dunbar and I asked if it was difficult to have Andy go from one of the boys to their boss and the reply was: "It's Andy, it's easy." He'd run though brick walls for the team when playing and they'll do it for him as manager. That's the energy around the place.

What was the story behind that, by the way? Did we just nick their mascot, or did the club somehow end up getting the same guy to produce a logo?

I've never seen an explanation and it's really odd that we ended up with a minor American university's hornet.

Not a clue tbh. Wayback machine shows a wasp badge for UWS in at least 2005 although the design is slightly different. Probably whoever designed ours just copied the design and cleaned up the lines.

It does annoy me slightly about our colours. The one that is trademarked is this:

But the SPFL and SFA have a washed out blurry yellow

Articulate, open, honest. It's going to be enjoyable and interesting seeing how Andy goes about the job, deals with the players and problems as they come along.

    Anyone know Neil Marshall's background?

Assume its on the phone for the advertiser but it's Niall (Pronounced Neil) Marshall if you want to give him a Google. Was Stirling Albion head of youth development.

Re the Edinburgh highlights, I have no idea how they do it. They even had a remote camera monitoring their own dugout on Saturday. I'm guessing they may have a tieup with a university media department as it was more professional than I'd have expected from a club who brought 37 fans to TFS. We certainly don't have the kit for that.

Thought we were the better team all game, we dealt with Queens long balls pretty well for the most part but still had a couple of dodgy defence moments. Going forward we looked good but the last ball lets us down quite a bit.

Nice for Roy to get the club record now. 4 goals in 4 games from a guy who couldn't get a game in the lowland league.

Roberts and Hetherington both covered a lot of ground today. With the stamina and energy the man has, I feel sorry for Kurtis Roberts Mrs.

It's not the (should say undisputed) record - news desk in the programme has

  6. Marvin Bartley has got QoS playing some turgid stuff. 7 passes between the 3 centre halfs and then a 60 yard cross-field punt to give it away must have been the most attempted play of the game.

We weren't exceptional barring an Ally Roy toepoke and a couple of scything counter attacks but good grit and determination to finally get back to back wins this season. Win next week and we could well be sitting in the playoffs again.
