To all my detractors.... Already nailed my colours to the mast that Falkirk were the best team in the League. All signs pointing going to win it at a canter as well without anything interesting happening with the top two aswell. Nothing peaked the last minute excitement of that Raith - Ayr season where it was fun to be a part of.
Today was sore for the goal difference but not unexpected. A right good 45 with the narrowest of margins (at a front post) separating us. Didn't start the second and sure the players wanted it over by 60 odd minutes. Like I've already said much more important to brush it off, forget about it and move on to next week against Annan. Bankers and six point games rather than a highlight victory.1 -

Not kidding anyone
Was there setting up my wires for tomorrow after taking them all to Motherwell - but it's funny to me to hint like I was doing a player announcement.

I've just came from the club. No sign of him anywhere.

Just read our pre-match and Hartley says he's finished in the transfer market this window. We have 19 players which is light, he recognises that.

For League 1 historically, I don't think it's too bad - certainly when we were promoted with Jim Goodwin - my recollection was the bench was a few senior players plus the kids. If Plan A didn't work you'd just regroup for next week.
I'd be surprised if we run such a comparatively huge squad again - there's a few seasons of large squads now and I think it's better to be streamlined - barring serious injury to key players of course.1 -
Quite like your business @coverangers1922. Think you guys are the current winners of window with offloading the dead wood and adding a couple decent faces.
...although if we can still get domestic loans until end of February there's still plenty of time for the rest of us to make some late additions. Fairly confident despite our meetings that Cove will be secure for the playoffs at this point. I'm not unconfident in our chances against Accies and sitting secure in second has a way of flattening you out before a lottery of playoff games.0 -
MacIver also gets a lot more support this year than plowing the lone furrow he did with us at times. Falkirk on paper might play a 4-2-3-1 but average position wise it's almost a 4-2-4.

Seen on twitter Killie have got a young Liverpool forward in on loan for the rest of the season, wonder if it makes Wales coming back any more likely
I'm off tomorrow so that timing checks out.

Looking quite likely that I'm on my own on Saturday so one hand is all I can spare

not some sort of “free hit”...
Easy to see the free it if you look at Falkirk's return against other teams they've so far surrendered 1 point to Cove, Hamilton, Montrose, Queen of the South and Edinburgh. Taking maximum points from the other games.
A loss means losing 1 point in competition with those other teams mentioned as I'm writing off a late run for the title. I'm sure we can agree a 27 point lead over the next 17 games is nigh on unreachable.
Gaining 3 points or two on Cove, Montrose, QoS and maybe Hamilton might be nice but like I said I'm not going to go home in gloom if we are still on 26 points on Saturday night. Far more important to take points off those teams who are in direct competition for places around. Those games are the cliched 6 pointers. So absolutely no pressure on us - I'd take another performance like we produced at Motherwell.0 -

Dickson was reluctant to say how much it is costing to run the club - which is in the third tier of Scottish football - for a season but confirmed it was in excess of £500,000.
Shows how beneficial it is to own your stadium. Don't think our costs are that high but we can generate savings and have an income from the stadium.
I remember someone credible telling me when Edinburgh put us out the challenge cup a good few years ago that they were paying 3 times the wage of our highest paid player to their top earner. Just seems mad to me that you'd throw all that money down the drain and not build any basis for the future.1 -

Tbf in the game against Edinburgh we rested most of our first choice 11 and even Man City would've struggled to play football on Bonnyrigg's mudheap of a pitch.
No excuses if we can't get a result on Saturday but confident we'll be back to our old selves
Wasn't too long ago there was a strong 'McGlynn can't be trusted' narrative though. Self inflicted for Edinburgh and if that's the turning point of your season I'm sure a few dissenters might be back.
Although I've said it after the first couple games though that I'd much rather 3 points from games against the teams around us than a 'headline' win against the league leaders. Either way I feel like this game is a bit of a free hit.0 -

See most fans just want their team to win at the weekend regardless, suppose it comes with the territory of being fucking massive right enough.
Scriptwriters have spoken I'm just the messenger.

In all honesty I want to win to see how much panic sets in. Three dodgy results in a row would be interesting.

Need to find all instances of that Wasp badge that he has and burn them. Made a 3d blender render for the match graphics at the beginning of the highlights. It's still kicking around though.
Made new flat illustrator assets a few years ago that are better.0 -

I thought Virtanen did OK in both positions. Not sure I'd be comfortable with him starting at RB against Miller (or Morrison) next week, but maybe we'll have to go with that.
Or could Kev stand in?

For me PJ and Scougall were our best players and special mention to Virtanen who I thought looked comfortable playing at right back.
Thought that myself - sods law he's been waiting for game time and two players that he can cover for go down in one game with serious injuries.

Sammo's goal and the players celebrating with the fans a special moment.
Enjoyable commentary, but did @KierenAAFC say Shittal at one point?
Might've. I definitely said Goldson for Quinn's header. The dangers of live TV.

Quite surprised on the media stuff. Expected Motherwell to be a much more accommodating place with doing the media. It was like they were surprised to have us there but I assume much bigger media teams than us work there regularly. We are way too reliant on Sky in this country. The setup felt a bit archaic and muddled. BBC had one single camera, QTV had one single camera and despite what it says in the commercial requirements we didn't manage to get a feed from them. Really disappointed there's not any more joined up thought in these competitions.

It's only a few weeks ago we lost Tv revenue,
To reiterate TV money is for the cups only. League money gets put into the central pot of which League One gets a pittance share. So you lost little to nothing.

I watched quite a bit of the youth games with streaming the home fixtures. Luke Rankin in my opinion was far the superior striker. Rayan was physical, but frequently offside and with a touch reminiscent of what we saw with Conor Sammon in the first team.
The foul and penalty won against Falkirk was a handball no? If it was I'll give Mohammed the credit that he was going for the challenge on I assume Brad McKay and forced the error. We got a fee for him and I thought it was good business at the time but he may well have improved at Dundee.1 -

For reference that is still the brawest match graphic. Clean. Different. Eye-catching. Falkirk's effort... leaves something to be desired
