  1. In March - June I was on furlough so that solved my childcare problem. My wife was working from and has done so for the duration. This time round, as I work in manufacturing / construction, at present I'll be back at work after the holiday and my wife will be back at work too. Unrealistic to expect her to work from home and school our son. Neither of us are considered "key workers" (although that's something I'd challenge!) We have no family nearby, and are really struggling to think of what to do. This situation will be repeated many times over across the whole country surely?
  2. Correct. If it goes ahead, they should throw EVERYTHING at it. Should be vaccinating from 6am-10pm (we do for elections) every day. It needs to be a monumental effort - nothing else will do
  3. I've posted some Armageddon stuff on this thread over the past few months. But tonight is the worst. Utterly depressing
  4. It'll get approved when it's been fully studied and is ready to be approved. People look for conspiracy theories in everything
  5. Correct. The 'holding back' of the vaccine news to act as some sort of sweetener is fanciful.
  6. Is Johnson & Johnson the same one as the "Janssen" one that is being trialled in Dundee? A single dose vaccine would be big news if successful
  7. 16 year old (only turned 16 last month) leading the line (and scoring) for Dortmund last night. Incredible. Hit the post with another too come to think of it.
  8. The tier system, in my opinion, isn't working
  9. I agree, but only to an extent. There is really zero prospect of any Central Belt LA reaching Tier 1 and for that reason the tier system wouldn't appear to be working. The only thing that does work is a full lockdown, and if we were to go down that route, to prevent people travelling to Highlands and Islands it would need to be across the board. A full March style lockdown is pretty unpalatable but at this point, and with furlough available it would, to my mind, do a whole lot more than the ineffective tier system.
  10. Not sure why, but today feels like lowest point so far in all this. I'm really struggling to see an end to this. (yes I know there's a vaccine)
  11. Correct. Think the first minister got a bit too excited with her 'concern' tweet earlier.
  12. Indeed she has hurriedly tweeted her 'concern'. Thankfully every medical expert I've heard over the last hour has said that this is neither unexpected, nor should it be a problem.
  13. I dunno - I'm just fed up with our 'Cautious Appraoch'
  14. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-55293938 'A Slow Process' FFS.
  15. Glaxo Smith Kline vaccine not looking too clever.
  16. I'm not. But he was a decent player. And not long after he left we were a bit shit
  17. His departure last season pretty much coincided with our drop in form. Disappointed for him his American adventure wouldn't appear to have worked out
  18. https://news.sky.com/story/andhra-pradesh-mystery-illness-kills-one-and-leaves-200-in-hospital-in-india-12154221 Not sure whether to start another thread for this
  19. Any word on how many will be vaccinated on Tuesday?
  20. Coming round to the opinion that there's one change that would make things less shite
  21. I can't be arsed doing any research but I'd be willing to bet no team in the league has made as few substitutions as us. Brechin apart, have we ever used all five in a game?
  22. Really struggling to stop myself calling for the manager to be sacked (I doubt we could afford it in any case). What a horrendous brand of football we have. A shot at goal is a rarity. A player taking on an opponent and getting down the wing never happens. We play with zero bravery. All this with a frontline the majority of the league would be envious of. I said a few weeks ago that it's all very well playing like this and picking up the odd points here and there, but it wouldn't last forever. Think we're at that stage now and suspect well tumble down the table in the coming weeks.
  23. Any particular reason why United haven't said what players are missing? Probably a bit of a ball ache for Livingston having done a week's worth of homework on United only to find themselves a few hours before kickoff and have no idea how we'll line up. Possibly answered my own question
