Really gutted about Crawford. Hope he kicks on, definitely has the ability, just didn't quite happen at ayr. Really rate him. If I'm honest I was surprised that he stayed as long as he did with the amount of unfair criticism he received during his time here.

Crawford has 4 offers on the table including ours. Hopes that he will make his decision in next couple of days. McCall is good friends with Neil Lennon and as such he believes that if Doohan goes out on loan this season it will be to Ayr.Says we need another defender, 2 strikers and probably another wide player. And I assume another CM if Crawford goes. Mentioned that a big part of Roscoe signing was having seen the progression of some other young players through ayr recently, I.e. McKenna, Smith, Rose, Harvie. Hopes that Roscoe having championship experience, and having played next to Andy Graham mist of the season will be a big factor. Also talked about the youth setup and how he feels they have done very well, I.e McCowan being very promising. Mentioned the fact that Hilton has gone to stranraer and said he just felt he wouldnt be able to offer him first team games. Pre season games will likely be close door fixtures and there will be a max of 3 before the cup starts.

Devlin is a good player. He stood out for us in some poor squads. Going forward he was excellent, defensively he left a lot to be desired sometimes. I did think he was a good leader on the pitch and his captaincy was a great decision. I'd much rather Smith at RB tho. His composure and defensive know-how is impressive for someone of his age. Gutted he is gone tbh.

Agreed. Personally think it's a decent move for him and it's good to see him playing up here again. A lot of our support seem to have a jealously of livi for being at a higher level than ourselves while having lower attendances. They've joined Hamilton in that club.

Why not Livi? Premiership club who will pay premiership wages. That's probably Devlin's level.

This. Unfortunately our support are like this every year. The amount of panic last summer because some players hadn't announced their intentions yet was ridiculous. All the facts that we know are that some players have been offered lower wages on the basis of their expected level of involvement, and McDaid has rejected the offer we gave him. For some reason, to many of our fans, that seems to mean that we have slashed the budget and will happily let all of our squad go, replacing them with a squad made almost entirely of loans. Mental.

To get back on topic. I believe in McCall to build a decent squad again and would assume he already has several targets identified ( depending on budget) . I'd expect to hear signing news with regards to Moffat, Geggan ect in the coming week. I think Forrest may be huge for us next season. If he can reach the form he showed early last season, in addition to another couple of attacking gems from mccall then we could be looking at a high goal return. The rumour about doolan and erskine is intriguing. I'm not sure if id like that as our strike partnership. Thought doolan in particular was finished whenever I watched him. Is Lewis Vaughan still under contract?

We will lose far better players than McDaid. Wouldn't be very fussed if he left tbh. We are definitely losing Rose, Smith and Shankland tho. Next season may well be very difficult. Glad there will be at least 2 part time sides as I think we will struggle. That's if we don't go up........
