I did post a while back that my mates sisters first civil service job was EU related and it was abundantly clear Davis had no clue as to how the EU actually worked. Hes a trougher always has been.

Ive worked with people in impoverished backgrounds all over the West of Scotland and in particular Govanhill, can honestly say the shite posted by the right wing about it is no where near accurate. There are considerably worse areas of Glasgow than Govanhill. However travelling around the west with junior football I’ve encountered some absolute shite holes that make Saracen look like Beverly Hills, these tend to be ex-mining towns in Ayrshire, Auchinleck, Dalmellington etc. Airdrie is also an absolute shitehole of a place, parts of west lothian are utterly horrific.

Ok, so tomorrow there is a works evening out (im on annual leave currently) for one of the guys who’s emigrating. He’s a decent enough guy but my issue is im the only boss down to go (the others have excuses) and being new to the office I dont really know any of them, I dont drink (have to drive anyway) and don’t want them thinking im there to take notes etc. I was thinking about going buying them a round and leaving after an hour or so. Do you all think this is alright? That way I show face, get a round in and leave them to get on with it. Or should I just not bother going?

New York and Washington have decent enough food scenes but besides bbq in texas and san fran/la the entire country is a food cultural vacuum.
