  1. Good to see such optimism from the bairns. McKinnon giving everyone the feelgood factor? Or is it simply the disappointment of dropping down the divisions?
  2. We thought the crowd was a bit down , but like most clubs I suppose we count non attending S/T holders? Och aye, moaning is a football supporters lot! Next game is always going to be better. No doubt Scotlands performances next week will give us something to cheer........................
  3. The buying of tickets at the portakabin has been on the go for a couple of seasons now. TBH at first I thought it was a pain in the arse , but like everything else you get used to it. I can only assume there had been some 'miscounting ' at the turnstiles? We have relied on McAllister for too long , and now hes showing his vulnerability to age and injury. Smith, the no11 had his best game since the ICT cup game a couple of months back. At that game I thought he was going to be a big player for us. Hopefully hes found his feet. We missed Si Ferry quite badly yesterday, too. As you say , it's a close league really, I'm simply suffering the 'losing blues' feeling! Sorry, forgot to add......it was a Summers day yesterday...........lol.
  4. Forget the beaks doing anything on the refereeing front. They struggle to get people to do the job. In the lower leagues I have never seen any OTT signs of bias toward any club. It's a nightmare job. Look at the Peterhead -Clyde game where Danny Lennon thought.........before seeing the video?......... that Goodwillies red card could be appealed. On seeing it on video it was red all day long. On one viewing during the game I wasnt sure either. The refs get one look at an incident and have to make the decision. Maybe cut them some slack. They're only human.
  5. ,Decent report for me from my side of the fence. Peterhead were the better side , but christ we are toothless. Airdrie kept plugging away and took the points. A game best forgotten for both sides. The Plus for Airdrie was the points. Unless we start scoring we are in a relegation fight, if not relegation favourites.
  6. It is a serious question. I may be a little out of touch as to the availability of footage at every ground. I honestly dont know if every club has, or has to have the game covered. You tell me how decisions used to be appealed when there was no footage.
  7. Does an appeal involve footage of the incident? If it doesn't, and it's a referees report only, he may be on a loser because the ref had no hesitation in giving him a red card. If, however, it can be seen on film to be ambiguous then it could be rescinded. Just goes to show how bloody difficult refereeing can be. One look, decision made.
  8. I wouldn't say it was violent conduct. It was late and silly, and he looked pretty disappointed with himself trudging off. He didnt make a song and dance of it so he probably knew it was merited. You're right, he doesn't have a history of sendings off. Bookings , yes. Usually for backchat or like yesterday, a daft challenge when not necessary, or when someone takes the ball off him. As for being wound up by opposition players.......after 15 years as a pro, he should be better than let it get to him.
  9. Well, .....depending on the refs report of course.....I wouldn't hold out much hope of winning any appeal, because it certainly wasnt a case of Goodwillie protecting himself. The ball had been headed away and he followed through . If he'd been closer to the ball he most likely would've been booked. Silly really because he had scored an absolute cracker.
  10. I dont think he's a replacement for McAllister, but I did think he looked like an asset against ICT. Unfortunately, he's done nothing since.
  11. Stewart is probably my choice, but Rory has been very good for PFC. In SPFL terms. The club has had a few cracking strikers down the years. Brian Third being my personal favourite, but Tom Brown, Charlie Barbour, John McMaster(yup, THE John McMaster)and last but not least a 16year old striker who banged in goals for fun. Willie Miller. (Wonder what happened to him?) Back to the issue. Rory is killing the team with his attitude on the pitch. O.K. he cant do the things he used to, but he has the skill to be a good team player. Time to think of the team, not just Rory.
  12. Same was said about Martin Bavidge. As for supporting him, sometimes he needs a ball to himself.
  13. I think it may be time to look beyond Rory. Injuries are taking their toll by the looks of it. He looks to have lost a bit of pace . He gets frustrated and stupid bookings are the order of the day.
  14. May was useless, but she didnt....because she couldn't.......debate. Off the cuff she could not do. Johnson thinks he can, but he can't. He looks like a little boy lost. Great.
  15. Ferry played really well last week against Furfar. MoM iirc. Looks like hes getting back to normal after his injury.
  16. I got the same impression of him when he was with PFC. Possibly the way hes made ? Some of the taller guys look slow and cumbersome which leads people to think they dont give a shit? Maybe he's the type who needs constant reassurance? Who knows what goes on inside a head? He did have a few decent games for us, but I wouldn't think you'd need more than the fingers of one hand to count 'em! One mitigating factor is the fact he's still relatively young at 21. Time on his side.
  17. Glad you felt welcomed. That is how it's supposed to be. I remember an old fella, an East Stirligshire supporter I spoke to after a Scottish cup tie where Peterhead beat them 1-0. (They should have beaten us easily) He said ' If you cant come to a game in friendship, you must leave in friendship, regardless of the score'. Stuck with me.
  18. It's quite normal. Old, established clubs, languishing in the backwater that is league one, reminiscing of days gone by . Mostly of stories told them by their grandfathers, or in some cases ,great grandfathers. Fallen on hard times they take to indulging in that old schoolboy game of ' I can pish higher than you'. This manifests itself in the roll call of cups won. Regardless of time passed since the event happened. I'm now wondering how long it will be before the appearance of ...... How many fish did you catch today? How many sheep remain unmolested in the North East? What has your team ever won? Or some such .
  19. Which 15 though? Theres about 40 on this thread alone! Name and shame!
