  1. Dinna ging climmin Mormond ower the heeds o fit e glaiket hoor sed. Thiv a got er heeds up er erses ,makin on thir better an fit e are. Wyte till e Clyde feels git gyan!
  2. You can pay players any amount you like......they're still the same player. The fact you're paying more doesn't mean they're trying any harder than any other player getting less cash.
  3. Indeed. They need to remember you're in this division for a reason,( there may be more than one), but primarily, it's because Falkirk couldn't gain enough points to stay out of it.
  4. No. It isnt posh, but it's not rough either. Oddly enough , I was in it a week past Sunday with a cousin of my wife. He hadn't been in in it and heard ,like you , that it was rough. First time I've been in it since it became Harbour Lights. It used to be called Scotch Corner. There is also a Brew Dog in the precinct...about 40 yards from Wetherspoons and the Palace Hotel. If you want to buy that pish......its there.
  5. Havent seen Glenugie in years. If anyone has a bottle , I doubt it will have an optic attached to it! Even the later stuff is selling for megabucks. The earlier gear is into the thousands.....but good luck with that! As for Saturday night boozers. If you're looking for live music, the Palace hotel has that. Wetherspoon's will be dead after 9-10pm, so if you want to yap.... There is a nightclub Deja Vu and Mambos on the main st. Queen St, about 50 yards from Wetherspoon's. They open late. Cant say what they're like because I'm a bit on the old side for them! There are other pubs , but they're dotted about other parts of the town. The Grange bar used to be guys having their Saturday night beers. The Tavern is supposedly on the up , but I haven't been in there in 30 years. Theres nothing too far away because theres only North, South and West. Watch out if you have too much hooch.........dont head East..........
  6. IIRC, that is what happened to us last time we were promoted. Into the play offs and lost on pens to Partick.
  7. Watched the game on Dundee t v and was very impressed again by the Blue toon. By far the better side in the first half, and although Dundee improved in the 2nd half , Peterhead should have won the game in 90 minutes. A word of warning to anyone who uses the Dee TV channel.........turn the volume down because the commentator is sooooo biased! I've watched the channels of every club that has one, and this guy is the worst. By a fair distance. A bit of bias is expected, but he was OTT.
  8. Just back from watching an excellent game at Balmoor. Impressed with the new signings. Smith in particular. Hope the rest of the season is this good.
  9. You should be fine against the Blue Toon to be fair, but Balmoor on a freezing cold afternoon can be difficult. August is hellish. The game in January will take care of itself. And a few unprepared , underwrapped bairns fans!
  10. I have to thank my better half for my lucky 2nd . I looked at the the question and thought 'WTAF'? I asked the missus for a number between 1-300. She said 140. The sum she won at bingo last Wednesday............. I've always trusted her to make a thought out, reasoned response.
  11. 9. Thursday. Did the quiz , and then read the comments..........other way round and 10 it would have been, but I didnt read the question properly either, so 9 is the correct result. Bollocks.
  12. He's that type of player. He plays the game the right way. The odd missed/mistimed tackle, but no nastiness.
  13. Certainly looks like it. I'm not into photography, so my camera is the holiday snap type so any photo I take is still pretty distant, but through the binoculars this looks like the fella.
  14. Not a birdwatcher really, but have taken an interest these last couple of years. Had feeders out for many years in our old house. Moved 3 years ago to the outskirts of town and now see a greater variety of bird. The one that started making reasonably frequent visits had me baffled for a while. Turns out it's a Woodpecker. Took me a while to find out what it was. Asked a local watcher and he confirmed. Didnt realise we had them here.
  15. I hope so. Though he'll be 35 by the time the season starts, he doesn't seem to be slowing down much. Consistent ,too.
