  1. Welcome to Balmoor , with a lovely Nor easterly blowing across the pitch. 6 layers on, and your balls frozen by half time. August. Love summer football. Welcome( if you get unlucky)
  2. Indeed. As a rule I dont read books on sport, but someone many years ago suggested I read Des Mckeown's one on football, and part time football in particular. Des had an above average thought process in comparison to most footballers. He said many of his team mates at the time thought it was more important to be known as a 'professional footballer', even though they were on average wages. Well worth a read.
  3. I wasnt having a go, it was simply they were never a big factor in the highland league . Cove, unlike County ....who have a big catchment area....wont grow too much.
  4. Any way of finding out what the average attendance was for RC for their last 30 years in the HFL, as I dont remember them being particularly well supported . I didnt miss a PFC match , home or away for about 20 years, and RC never seemed to have anything more than 200-300 at Victoria Park for a league game. They weren't a particularly successful outfit in the HFL until very late on. One league win until the 90's, and possibly a cup or two?
  5. My hair has been pure white for 10 years. Doesn't bother me. My brother in law, who is a year younger than myself uses some kind of hair colouring product. Sheep dip, going by the colour...
  6. It is. The use if the cycle path may have prevented his injury. Of course, he may have been on the cycle path when he was knocked down. It may have been he was knocked down by a person in a buggy , or someone else on a bike. He may well have told someone else to f**k off and they knocked him down! I dont know how it happened. As for me suffering the abuse, it really didnt bother me. I was actually trying to help the guy and he was the belligerent party.
  7. Of course it didnt happen. I'm trying to get into politics......
  8. Came up behind a cyclist a few weeks back . Couldn't get past for oncoming traffic. Alongside the road, is a purpose built cycle path. We stopped at a roundabout, I opened the window and said to him 'wouldn't you be better and safer on the cycle path mate?' He replied ' f**k off you fucking arsehole, I'll ride my bike where I want to'. By a strange coincidence, the next time I saw him a few weeks later,he was talking to someone in the street as I walked by. He said to his mate...' some arsehole knocked me off my bike' Oh how I laughed.................... At the crutches...........
  9. Which will matter not a jot. They are a well run club, with good players. Berwick are a poorly run club, with probably twice the support . But, they're a crap team. That's why they are in this position. Do I feel sorry for Berwick? No. I do, however, feel sorry for their fans. They're obviously hurting due to their club being fucked about by people who either dont know what they're doing, or people who dont give a shit about what they're doing....not only to the club, but to the community as a whole.
  10. 8. Friday Including a couple of guesses. Why would any ordinary soul know the height of the base camp(south) on Everest????? Good questions though.
  11. I get what you're saying, but by reading posts from the Berwick guys on here, their position is self inflicted. It's no fault of CR that Berwick are in a mess As for bringing money to the table...... it's the way of the footballing world . Has been for a generation and more. Too many clubs over the years were reliant on pools money( dont know if that still the case?) and a cup tie against one of the bigger teams to keep them afloat. As for the Montrose /Cove love in, that will probably fall by the wayside when they start competing , not only on the park, but for player signings, too. Especially as Cove has signed Fraser Fyvie!
  12. The standard of journalism in Scotland is bloody awful. The Jackshuns of this world pander to an ever decreasing readership.
  13. Berwick may well rise to the occasion , but it's hard to see anything other than a win for Cove.
