  1. I wouldn't worry too much about returning to watch a game. If this situation goes on for a year or more there will not be much to watch. This is the biggest crisis to ever hit football in peacetime, and if football in general doesnt get its collective shit together, there will be nothing left worth watching. Time to see if the game can be saved, not indulge in a reconstruction to save 3 or 4 clubs from relegation, which is the classic mindset.
  2. Agreed. Reconstruction will be a necessity. The way some of the boffins are talking, well be lucky to have season 2021/ 22 up and running on time.
  3. Indeed. Johnson has given them a renewed vigour, and generated stupidity in parts that were reasonably sensible. All of it while being pretty much invisible.
  4. The peak may be over in a few weeks. Then what? You expect a return to normality? This will not happen. This bloody virus will still be out there. The boffins think they MAY have a vaccine by September/October. Then there will be clinical trials, and if it works in any kind of numbers it will be produced. I'll stick my neck out here and say there may not be a next season. Definitely not starting in August. For next season, read next year.
  5. I wouldn't worry about it. Every club with a vested interest in the outcome of promotion/ relegation will be saying the same.
  6. And what, if anything would UEFA do if every association announced winners etc?
  7. Why isnt UEFA assisting the government with this virus? They seem to know when it will all be over and can get back to some normality. Or it could be the sponsors money they're worried about. Shower of shysters.
  8. If this goes on into Autumn/ Winter it could see many clubs go amateur.......if they can pay their rent/ rates in the intervening period.
  9. That is football in a nutshell. Self interest only. Nothing for the furtherment of the game itself.
  10. Hearts asking their people to take a 50% cut in wages. Hope they have a good employment lawyer.
  11. An added problem with finishing this season beyond June would be contracts. I daresay quite a number of players contracts will finish around that month.
  12. The whole idea of having the season as finished is to give teams their split of the cash. Hopefully no club goes out of business.
  13. Boris Johnson is not awarding anything. He is stopping mass gathering. He doesnt give a rats arse who wins what. The pettiness is all on here and other football web sites.
  14. Lol. Forget that people are dying, theres stil a quarter of the season to play.
  15. Interesting article in the Scottish Sun . I read the strapline and short piece on my newsfeed only. Its saying the PM is going to declare the season finished as it stands. Too much money involved in declaring the season void. I.E, returning sponsorship cash, S/T cash etc. For once something worth looking at in the sun.
  16. Just in from the game. If we'd played like that the rest of the season we wouldn't be down the bottom end of the table. Peterhead 5th goal was a Corker, but as usual the game was spoiled by a crap ref. Raiths first and second sendings off were justified, but the third one merited only a yellow for me. Never mind 3 points , 7 goals and a clean sheet. Cant be bad. Plus the backhander from Falkirk. What a day. Dream.
  17. He had to reschedule an international match after being told by representatives of the monarchy to carry on as per original date. Of course, certain members of the Scotland squad refused to play on the day of Princess Diana's funeral , making his position very difficult. Not as difficult as the Cadete caper. Anyway, a mere bagatelle in comparison to coronavirus.
  18. Aye, but Farry didnt have to deal with anything out of the ordinary. This is out of the ordinary.
  19. To be fair you're in this' abyss ' of a league because you weren't good enough for the one above! I get where you're coming from on the point of having a finished article, but if you see my reply to "Rovers 1992-1993", the money guys at the respective clubs may not see it from a fan PoV?
  20. My username is ( almost ) a clue. Peterhead. I have no vested interest in who wins the league, obviously. I'm simply thinking the money men who own/run football clubs wont be thinking the same as yourself on promotion/ relegation.
  21. Is it? Trying not to labour the point, but is it fair on those teams still in with a chance of gaining automatic promotion? Let's say RR lose or draw tomorrow, and Falkirk win to top the league. On Monday the authorities announce Falkirk as league winners, you would be happy with that?
  22. What about montrose? What about Montrose? He was a bloody good guitar player.
  23. You're top of league one on Monday. The SPFL/SFA say you're champions and getting the spot in the championship. Do you think Falkirk, East Fife and Aitdrie are going to say that's fine? Partick are going to say they're o.k. with getting relegated with a possible 24 points still to play for As for the fans following their team? That will not be a concern on any decision made. IMHO, of course.
  24. With pretty much a whole quarter to go, I doubt being top or bottom or anywhere ,is going to matter. If the authorities were to say that the league positions are final, do you think the clubs still in with a chance of their respective league are going to accept that? If the powers were to come to that decision , it could end up becoming a legal matter. It will be interesting to see what such an inept body does come up with.
