Few problems with your idea: How do you ensure first team & the youth team don't draw each other in cups? What happens if the team bottom of league 2 also has it's youth team win League 3? A club going down to League 3 would see close to zero away gates. This reduction also applies to the cups. For me the way forward is a standalone U21 or U20 league playing Friday nights. The LL U20 league has been a sucess & would be a good model to follow. I will agree however a youth league under the governanance of the west region & not controlled with the SYFA is an important step that needs to be taken.

One thing I've found curious is the word ken. It's a thing all over the east of the country that dissapears west of Harthill yet resurfaces in Ayrshire despite not being a thing in Glasgow, Lanarkshire, Renfrewshire or Dunbartonshire. Speaking for myself I've lost a decent bit of enthusiasm for the Junior Cup. I'd go out on a limb & say that no-one from outside the west is winning the thing nor even making the final anytime soon. Someone made the point that it's now argueably harder to win the WOS Cup than the Junior Cup & I'd have to agree.

I'm talking in terms of historic teams/terms. There used to be a D&G junior league that had three incarnations with the last folding in 1951. Kello are one of two teams from that league with the other being SPFL2 Annan Athletic that are around today.
