  1. I’m sure they were looking at both positions anyway so may just be a change of priority for now
  2. Couldn’t agree more. I’ll believe it when I see it but he’d be a great addition if it happens
  3. I see ST Johnstone fans are speculating that Liam Craig is joining us as a player/coach
  4. I think this is why it’s all about building for next season. I’d like to see us recruiting players that we know will be strong at this level and if Rennie can get the defence sorted then we may have what looks like a team who will be challenging for the title next season. If Rennie does well then I’d say we need to keep hold of him as a new manager in the summer isn’t why we need.
  5. You’ve hit the nail on the head. If we don’t make reasonable strides before the end of the season then season tickets will drop drastically, which could then make our budget lower for next season. We should be looking to improve where we can this window so that we’re not trying to replace a full squad in the summer again
  6. I’m not being funny but Dumbarton just beat them after getting pumped off us. Even if we don’t have any new faces I’d expect us to get the win on Saturday* *I know this will come back to bite me!
  7. The statement said we’d need to go up this season or next otherwise we wouldn’t remain full time. I’m assuming any player they sign in this window will be looking into next season as well
  8. So you’r happy to overlook his off the field antics because he’s proven to score goals in previous years
  9. People on here saying Griffiths would be a good shout need their heads checked. The guy hasn’t performed in years and is quite clearly not the interested. Why on earth would he be a good signing? Some fans deserve the club we have
  10. Nobodies making excuses. We are highlighting the reasons why it isn’t as simple to bring in “quality” players as you like to make it out to be
  11. So back to what I said last night. What manager could we have got that is well respected enough to get these players to come? I can only assume you don’t believe Rennie can do this
  12. I can’t remember Raith issuing anything like the Q&A that we did or have anywhere near the turnover of players. You are basing your facts on the performance of the club in the league. What we have managed to do is tarnish our reputation in both football performance and as a business
  13. My point is they’d have been more attractive than us. There is no overlooking the public mess out club has made of things in recent years. We are the laughing stock of Scottish football but I don’t think Raith really held that title the way we do
  14. We clearly are. We are the laughing stock of Scottish football and I would think any club/player looking in from the outside would be very hesitant about coming here. Players also speak and I’d guess or name will be muck with the majority of players that have left over the years. The smaller, less attractive clubs on paper you talk about will have likely been a more attractive proposition than we are right now. We may have better facilities but with what’s went on over the years, I very much doubt our superior facilities will make these players and clubs overlook everything else.
  15. At no point did I make out the reputation damage was anywhere near the same. What I was clearly pointing out is we are in such a state that I do think the club have explored this signing as we are a club that is going to find it difficult to attract the quality we want/need.
  16. @Blame Me why the red? What part of that doesn’t make sense?
  17. Shadwell, you’re continually overlooking the points that have already been made that we are not in the same position as Arbroath, Raith and Partick. Whether you want to admit it or not, with what has happened over recent years, we are not an attractive club for players or for other clubs to loan players. We have year on year got worse as well as the club publicly embarrassing themselves on many occasions. We have a lot of work to do before we become an attractive proposition again. This is also why I believe the club are trying to sign Goodwillie. He, like us has a damaged reputation and is of the quality required that we can likely attract to the club
  18. Isn’t really his fault though is it? He’s inherited a shit show of a squad and he’s made obvious improvements, but nothing he can do will change the fact we need to play Hall and McKay who are both way below par
  19. Who has ever said Rennie isn’t a gamble? Every appointment is a gamble. Out of interest who do you think Falkirk could have realistically appointed who was a better option on paper?
  20. You are correct but my point from before is valid when it comes to recruiting managers too. We are not going to get those type of managers as they wouldn’t touch us with the state we’re in
  21. Are you forgetting everything that’s happened at our club at the last 4-5 years? Getting worse year on year, publicly slagging off players past and present, board members embarrassing themselves for the world to see and let’s not forget the huge turnover of players. None of the managers you mentioned were recruiting with that hanging over them. Even as a fan, if I had a job at another club and Falkirk wanted to loan a player I was at, I doubt I’d send them
  22. You’ve actually lost it mate. Get real
  23. I agree but we need to be more clinical. We’re far too wasteful
