  1. I got tickets this way for the last two home games, but they were sold 21 (Georgia) and 18 (England) days ahead of the fixtures. With 16 days to go to the Norway game, and nothing announced yet, it doesn't look too promising.
  2. Yep fair shout. Another consolation goal for the Saudis in a 8-2 defeat that they've somehow won
  3. 2030 should be South America and only South America for the Centenary. They've got three countries involved, no excuse. Europe for 2034, then Australia or Asia for 2038. There's really no argument or desire to fast track Saudi onto 2034. I can't imagine any fans outside of the Middle East want it there. No authorities that use the standard calendar would want another winter tournament. The only reason it's going there is the obvious one.
  4. For about half an hour there you'd think you were watching highlights, not live footage, non stop action
  5. Well worth the twenty quid to attend! It was a great all round team performance, and a thoroughly deserved victory. Apparently they were great at Portsmouth as well and didn't deserve to lose. There's been a few of them so far, and no heavy defeats (yet.) I think, after a tough settling in period, we're gonna be ok at this level, especially if the takeover comes through and some money gets spent in January. The highlights dont show Fin Back's disallowed goal (supposedly the cross had gone behind and come back in) or Sam Lavelle's volley just over the bar - he's a great signing by the way, a really solid, calm defender, and a good leader. Still buzzing to be honest, can't beat a (nearly) last minute winner in a packed terrace!
  6. That to me is sensible planning, you'd think a major hotel chain would be a more solid booking than an Air BnB. Nothing to back this up, but I'd imagine the 3rd party bookings would be more likely to be punted than the direct ones. Shows what I know!
  7. Surprised to read it was a non refundable booking. I've heard of the free cancellation bookings getting cancelled and inflated, but not this. Also surprised with it being a well known chain hotel. Did you book through a travel agent or a site like Expedia, or go to Ibis/All Accor directly?
  8. Ooft that is a belter... but I'll be in Barcelona for Rammstein! Buzzing, and a bit poorer today. €148.50 for a Feuerzone ticket, €144 for the privilege of a seat. General standing somewhere between €110 and €120 I think, plus the cost of getting to Dublin, and then the hotels massively inflating their rates. €300 a night for a Premier Inn apparently. Tickets for Prague and Belgrade are significantly cheaper if you fancy making a trip out of it, both places around £70. General sale starts Wednesday at 10am UK time.
  9. Board was definitely held up, McKenna definitely left the pitch, but I don't think the sub had came on. There was another stoppage after the freekick and before the goal. The ball went out for a throw-in which was taken quickly, might even have been McKenna that took it.
  10. You're right, and I was at the Cardiff gig too, however those were re-scheduled pre pandemic gigs, as in before we'd actually left the EU. Given they employ over 400 crew (across two stages) most of them touring, and have 60(!) truckloads of equipment for each show, I can completely understand why they want to/have to avoid the logistical nightmare of all the paperwork and expense that would be involved to bring everyone and everything into the UK now. I'll be trying for tickets next week anyhow. Summer 2024 could be a very expensive time!
  11. Fair enough. Still think things could be done quicker though - "come to the screen Nick, you have a look at the handball whilst we check for offside"
  12. Why did they make Nick Walsh stand and wait for a couple of minutes whilst decided whether it was worth looking at? Just send him over and save a couple of minutes. Hate that about VAR
  13. On a similar theme - when managers or pundits talk about teams playing 3 games in a week when they play Tuesday, Saturday, Tuesday. No mate, there's only one Tuesday in a week, that's 3 games in 8 days. If the trend continues for a few weeks, they'll say it's been 3 games a week all month, when they've actually only played 8 games in 4 weeks, not 12.

    Berlin

If you're still there, I'd highly recommend an ice hockey game. Eisbaren Berlin are at home on Sunday afternoon. Great atmosphere
  15. Those of you who opted for DH rather than JD, how's the sizing? I'm usually XL with Adidas. Cheers @Craig fae the Vale @BB_Bino @Benjamin_Nevis @Arch Stanton
  16. New Abbey to Wick is some geographical spread just 3 games in! Better hope the winner doesn't get Stranraer away in the next round!
  17. Made perfect sense and is very helpful, thanks very much!
  18. Any tips on getting tickets? I'm in Munich later in the year when they're at home.
  19. Think that's a bit harsh. A "mercenary" who left League Two (at the time) Annan to drop two levels in order to get more game time and play with his pals? Now after scoring loads in the South of Scotland league he's away back to his old club in the league above (for now.) Maybe he wants to test himself in the Lowland League again whilst he still can. A lot of South fans seem to talk about money a lot, even though it'll be tiny at this level. If he makes a bit more at Gretna, so what, he deserves it. But yes, it will be interesting to see how Lochar do without Anderson.
  20. I've only quoted a wee selection here but cannot agree more. I wasn't even due to be going to this but my wife's pal pulled out last minute so I went along. I was really impressed with Paolo, if that boy can stay focused and healthy he could have a long and legendary career ahead of him. I was surprised but impressed with the new versions of the hits, caught a lot of people out around me as they clearly didn't recognise some of them until they clocked the lyrics at the chorus'. Speaking of the people around me, and seemingly everywhere. Pre-gig I commented that it was a right mixed crowd (expected) but there were no bams and everyone seemed polite and respectful. They were attentive enough for Inhaler - decent band, but not much of a show. Expected a bit more from Bono's son. When Paolo came on though, my thoughts on the crowd changed drastically, as did their behaviour. Just as you and others have mentioned, it was like being in a pub with a band in the background. Large groups of varying ages, seemingly ignoring the music and chatting away loudly amongst themselves, only changing when they recognised something and raised their phones. Easily the most disrespectful crowd I've ever been in. As for the parking. Got in no problem, allowing us to reach the arena just as the first support was starting. Parked next to a large orange pickup thankfully, which meant we could find our car afterwards, but what a shambles of a get-out that was. Absolutely no marshaling or traffic management in the car park. Nothing moving for 40 mins, then a slow nudge across the field for another 30 as about 8 diagonal rows of cars long since abandoned any type of order now trying to squeeze into two lanes on a gravel track. Suddenly in the final seconds before reaching the road, a couple of marshals appear to state the obvious.
  21. Like when they got Andy Robertson from Hull for £8m and sold them Kevin Stewart for £6m (I think.) Safe to say that one worked out well for them.
  22. He does seem to have been used deeper and more centrally for Newcastle, but I saw him play against Carlisle whilst he was at Bristol Rovers. He was the best player on the park, a buzzy skillful attacker either coming in from wide left or behind the striker and causing havoc. Created a number of chances, had a great shot just wide and one off the bar if I remember rightly. The Bristol Rovers fans, as well as the ones who'd travelled through from Newcastle to watch him, were singing his nickname name all game - "The Geordie Maradona!" Not sure if that helps answer Velo's question, but may help get you excited!
  23. Aye well, bear in mind this is the same source that also reported a 5-4 QoS penalty win against Motherwell a month ago.
  24. Could see pretty clearly from the main stand that the ref had given a pen, although that's maybe coz I just happened to look at him whereas others might've been following the ball. Didn't hear the whistle right enough. Dom Doherty slid in to block the shot and caught McKechnie after the shot had gone. Technically, if the ball was still in play, it's the right call, regardless of him getting the shot away. Still a surprise to see it given though. Surely you're not giving that goal to Connelly?! Cracking shot, but it came back off the bar, hit Fleming on the back, then Gibson made a mess of it on the line. Either a Fleming or a Gibson Own Goal, definitely not Connelly's. Agree about Annan tiring, but understandable when they're part time and short on numbers. Still think they need to strengthen if they're to stay up.
