  1. He has had some issues with an ankle injury of late. Hopefully not a reoccurrence and he was hooked on account of having a "mare" as you suggest or worse, a tactical switch.....
  2. well, I for one am fine with that. In you come, Nicky....
  3. Spoken with such assurance by the Old Grim who miraculously never seem to concede such "clear" penalties....
  4. No peno - Robbo fouls the keepo.
  5. arrived on an overnight flight to EDI this morning and the gate wasn't ready or was occupied. Presumably no option or suggestion of an alternative gate. So 8 hour flight followed by 25 mins sat on the runway tarmac until the one and only gate offered to the flight became vacant.......
  6. why are green policies considered by the cartoonist be an elephant in the room for the Tory Govt? Or does he mean Tory "green" policies I wonder as Sunak once again takes his private jet to a nearby location, perfectly accessible by public transport?
  7. Was it a pride parade specifically that made him so angry? Or just any parade that prevented him driving his route? I imagine this guy gets very angry at something/everything about 30 times a day.
  8. ha yeah. Samples or dialogue in songs have to come from a source - often obscure or forgotten movies or throw away lines in relatively well known movies. Why does it blow your mind to find it comes from an unspectacular but fairly decent movie that is rarely referenced 20 years on? "Mind blowing" to shortly become the new "can't breathe"....
  9. if you are queuing outside the airport at 0600 post check-in to get through security there is something far far wrong with your set-up - whether it be temporary or not. Not helped by the fact that those officials administering the queue seem to be annoyed that you are using their airport to catch a flight.
  10. it would be hugely contentious in my view to bring in a previously "undeclared" to make their debut at a tournament without having kicked a ball in anger for us. It would be massively unfair on the player who had to drop out particularly if they had played a role o qualification. Playing at a tournament is reward for the qualification in my view. I know not everyone will agree but I would say it is at least fair to suggest that it is far from a "no brainer"...
  11. Naismith was pretty decent for us. He and Fletcher would have been pretty decent together. Stand out game for me for Naismith was at home against the Dutch under Burley (?) - Naismith was immense and additionally, seemed to win pretty much everything in the air.
  12. agreed. simple premise based on a plot line that has been done a hundred times before (man with shady past reluctantly brought out of contented/quiet etc retirement) and delivered with an innovative, fresh, exciting and fun take. Similar to how Bourne re-booted tired spy movies. I still enjoy the John Wick movies but with exploring the expanded universe, moves further and further away from what made the first one so special. But hey ho - 4 movies, likely a 5th, and a TV show all because of a dog - "it wasn't just a dog...."
  13. On FB, a hundred Dads across the central belt laugh out loud whenever they see one of their own refer to Sturgeon as "Wee Nippy" for the first time or for the hundredth time.
  14. I was quite pleased to see all the changes; thought should have done the same for the England game....
  15. I imdb'd it and was reminded this was the movie that conforms to right wingers' view on many conspiracy theories going around, centred around what seems to be one of their favourite subject matters - paedophillia. Saying that I liked Jim Caviezel in Persons of Interest and who doesn't like seeing a former US government agent pulled out of retirement to undertake a mission allowing him to kill johnny foreigner with such abandon?
  16. Stan Lee once said his day was ruined whenever he saw Spider-Man written without the hyphen. Same for me when Tennent's appears without an apostrophe or worse an "a" inserted instead of an "e". If both, I just go back to my bed.
  17. or hand in hand in desperately seeking escapism from the drudgery of following a team who will win 95% of their domestic fixtures.....
  18. you joke, but seriously would a social class driven by economic materialism come in and shake up a dressing room - give them a rollicking/put an arm around them and get them playing with a smile on their face again?
  19. Tommy Burns? Malky Mackay? Due to McLeish's second spell where it was pretty clear he had diminished in capacity, would put split his spells - second spell falls below Strachan.
  20. PnB seethe in some quarters more like judging by some seemingly wishful predictions on here....
