  1. Well, not a brilliant game but not as bad as I'd feared. At times Spartans looked like Forfar a month or so ago - plenty midfield, nothing moving up front and woeful when they did go forward, apart from their final fling. Forfar definitely improving although with Brindley scoring it'll be Marc on the score sheet next. If the guys bearing down on goal get rid of the 'rabbit caught in headlights' habit and start burying the several cracking chances on offer today I'll be happy. Ah, Rusty, keep yer mooth shut and just get on with things, you'll not make the ref change his mind. A stupid yellow card. Matty Allan was excellent today with great tackles and fine passing. Will we all eat our words when this team gels further? Dunno, but is this team moving forward? I'd like to think so.
  2. It's third placed Spartans playing a poor Forfar team struggling to find a winning formula. Will today be the day Forfar finally find consistency or will Spartans prove to be too strong? Will Forfar play the long, high ball to the Mart roof or find some crisp forward passing? Be nice to see a convincing Forfar win today.
  3. It's usually good to hear of youngsters getting a chance to gain experience and I wish Finlay all the best but I'd rather see it happening from a Forfar position of strength - we're languishing near the bottom of the league. I'd have thought a stronger presence with experience is what's needed. I'm struggling to understand this loan. Talking of strength, I saw Seb bouncing off two very strong defenders standing their ground at the Stenny game, as just one example, and I'm not sure a youngster will do any better (but I'll be delighted if Finlay proves me wrong).
  4. No, you're offering an idea of what you might like to happen (from Lab, I assume) after any independence, and an anti-SNP hit. Independence would come about by, I'd imagine, the same route as the last one - Should Scotland be an Independent Country: Yes or No. So either/or, no shades. Even if there is a section of Labour who believe in independence, there's no chance of pro-Union Sir Keith getting within a million miles of offering Scotland this option. Well, maybe after they abolish the House of Lords, right enough.
  5. Are there different shades of independence?
  6. Maybe the watching of the player, reports from his club and the like has all been done and the training session is to see if the player and squad is a 'fit'. Dunno, just a thought. It can't be decided on a player just rocking up at a training session, can it? Mind you, if that is the case I might trot along.
  7. Thought the head tennis in the first half was quite good. But swirling wind with gusts should really have seen more long, hopeful balls. All in all maybe peak Forfar.
  8. Well, nothing screams "integrity" like telling a fitba forum about the direction of travel of an academic institution, right enough.
  9. When that idiot of a Defence Secretary, Shapps, said 'watch this space' when talking about the Houthi, you could tell he was just absolutely loving the idea. He won't be the only one in government with this mind-set either. As Joseph Heller said, insanity is contagious. What a fucking country. Joseph Heller again: 'What is a country? A country is a piece of land surrounded on all sides by boundaries, usually unnatural. Englishmen are dying for England, Americans are dying for America, Germans are dying for Germany, Russians are dying for Russia. There are now fifty or sixty countries fighting in this war. Surely so many countries can't all be worth dying for."

  11. We're not really getting all worked up about a wee kick-about wind down training session, are we?
  12. The collective noun for trampolines rolling down the street during stormy weather is 'a tumbleweed'.
  13. VAR clearly shows the ball didn't cross the line.

  15. "This week's Star Man accolade belongs to a player making his second debut for the Loons." Now I remember why I stopped putting on a coupon.
  16. If that's not enough time for any who don't want to rush in and make a quick decision, they'll have the remaining 17 months of his contract to decide .
  17. I've not said he's bad, my point is that these are the players being brought in when we're in this mess.
  18. When you're in the position of being close enough to hear the trapdoor to the HL squeaking and where every game is a fight for survival to sign a 'striker' who switches off and who often looks as if he'd be anywhere else coupled with an ex-Formartine lad reeks of going through the motions. The Club is just taking the piss now.
  19. There's absolutely no need for that, anyway. Blessed are the sneeze makers.
  20. But, but, but, it was only 6 months ago this was news "Forfar re-name stadium after entering into historic agreement with local construction company Forfar chairman Scott Murdie says his club's historic stadium renaming deal can help bolster their League Two promotion bid."
