Well everyone else is talking pish so I thought I would have a wee go.

Premiership of 16 teams all playing each other home and away gives us 30 games. League then splits in to 2 x8 and teams play each other once takes us to 37 games. Home and away being decided by ‘luck of the draw’ League then splits into 4x4 and all play each other once taking us to 40 games. Fixtures reversed from previous split. Top 4 fighting for league/Europe 2nd and 3rd group of 4 pretty much playing for prize money and places. Bottom 4 fighting it out for automatic relegation/ playoffs Bottom 2 automatically relegated with third bottom in the play offs. Keeps the 4 OF games. Potentially gives you final 3 games in top and bottom groups that would have a lot riding on them. Adds 2 games to the season but reverting back to a knockout bet Fred could compensate for that.

Hopefully JG has learned his lesson from the Hamilton game where he changed our system to 1 up front and dropped Obika. We were pretty hopeless that night until Jakubiak and Obika came on the park. Hamilton also play hearts at the weekend so tomorrow night and Saturdays games are massive opportunities for us to put a bit of distance between ourselves and the bottom spot.

Lee Hodsons injury not as bad as first feared and not expected to be out for long , although weds night against Livi May just be too soon.

Thanks for backing up exactly what I’ve said. We’re currently in 10th in the league , from memory I don’t think we’ve been higher than 8th this season, yet here we are sitting in 8th in the form table. Best run of the season indeed.

St Mirren are currently on there best run of the season having only lost 2 of our last 8 and those games being against the 2 arse cheeks. Kirk Broadfoot has been no where near the squad for these games so he’s in no way a loss to the starting 11, as a squad player yes but the 2 new boys look like decent fits having conceded only 1 goal in there 3 games so far and that being against Rangers at Ibrox. Paul McGinn did play in most of those 8 games but in Lee Hodson we’ve someone who is every bit as good as McGinn if not better (slightly). If 1 of the new strikers can start converting the chances we’ve been creating into goals then I believe we have a much better starting 11 than we have done for the last few months. We will be relying on luck though that we don’t suffer another defensive crisis like we’ve already had this season.

Sky now reporting a fee has been agreed between us and Hibs for Paul McGinn , it’s got to be said that us replacing McGinn with Lee Hodson who is actually a better player than P McG and getting a small fee is a cracking bit of business by the club.
