  1. Can't disagree with a word of this although possibly poorest performance I have seen by Annan this season. Wasn't helped by the abysmal refereeing and the standside lino. You can see the difference between league one and two teams in games like these. The size of our squad is worrying when you saw the bench today. A long ĥard winter lies ahead...
  2. Can we have a repeat of the 2019 score please? 6-1 with a hat trick from Tam Muir. Seems like a lifetime since we won a game but just doing enough to keep Queens in sight. Absolutely teeming it down just now so many of the less committed may choose to spend the afternoon in the club/Shed. Prediction ANNAN 2 (Smith & Goss) COVE 0 Mon th Annan! Ca plane pour moi!
  3. Can't see why...looks all white to me! On the positive side no dropped points and a week for the walking wounded to recover.
  4. Fingers are just about thawed out. Had forgotten how cold Tuesday nights can be at Galabank. Was very impressed with Hamilton first half. Cut down both flanks and feared a real doing. After the sending off, and I admit Wullie did seem to make the most of it, the game was all Annan. Just didn't give anything for Fulton to deal with though and can't believe Matty Douglas didn't score that header. Genuinely think Annan were worth a point though and games against Edinburgh and Queens will define our season.
  5. Gutted to have not held on for the win yesterday but in all fairness Kelty were worth at least a draw. Agree with previous two posters that Garritty was electric yesterday and tormented the Kelty defence all game long. Baffled to see him subbed and for me was only contender for man of the match. Yeah, corner count was embarrassing. Have noticed all season that Annan are packing the box when opposition get corner and leaving no one up front . End result has no out ball so we are relying on Fleming saving the day or ball going out of play. Frustrating!! Thought Reece Lyon showed respect by not celebrating his goal. He was class for us last year and would have him back in a shot.
  6. We go into this game desperately needing a win to avoid potentially going bottom. Would love to see a repeat of the boxing day scoreline from 2021. 5-1 in case it had slipped your mind. Stand out moment in that game was the bizarre sending off of Jordan Forster. Ref had blew for half time when the big fella started mouthing off to the home support after being accused of being follicly challenged. Oh how we laughed! Not expecting the same score and to be honest, would settle for a scrappy 1-0 in the 90 +10 minute! Mon the Annan! Ca plane pour moi!
  7. Feel absolutely cheated after that game. Some dismal finishing coupled with, ahem, questionable refereeing. Have no idea why Docherty was booked in first half when he appeared to have been headbutted. Then Queens goal- their only attempt of note- coming from a free kick but no idea why that was given. Annan defence arguing about that and no one picked up their man. Personally speaking felt Tommy Goss was maybe trying too hard to prove a point. Some of the headers he won would have been more effective being knocked back/down rather than goalwards. Still, always gives 100% and never let's his head go down. Certainly not impressed by Queens who I think will struggle for a top four place. As for us avoiding bottom is paramount and don't think seventh or eighth place is out of the question. Just takin a pragmatic view and not expecting miracles!
  8. Delusional or unjustified signs of entitlement...
  9. Looking forward to this today. Think there's more pressure on Queens than Annan about expectations. Admit Annan were poor at Palmerston earlier this season but are now getting to grip with league one football. Can't see this being a goal fest and would love to see any of the ex six Queens players at Annan scoring. Total scenes if Gibson senior gets the winner! Enjoy the day out and hope the best team wins, as long as their in Black and Gold !
  10. See on club website that next weekends game away to Hamilton has been switched to the Friday night? Anyone know reason behind this? Can't be for Alba TV as they have already scheduled Stirling/ Cove for the 30th.
  11. Flurry of transfer activity at Galabank this week. Lewis Hunter returns from his antipodean adventures and will no doubt take up his customary place on the bench! James Graham (Forward) signed on loan from Rangers B. We seem to have had a few loanees from Ibrox, possibly due to the John Joyce connection, but none of them have really set the astroturf on fire. Exception to this was Andrew Mitchell who I think was here on three separate occasions before returning to NI. Also the word on North Street it is were are apparently bringing in a teenager from Carlisle - Kai Nugent. This lad is highly rated but has been injured since July so looks like he will fit in well with the rest of the walking wounded. Ca Plane Pour Moi!
  12. Three points, no longer bottom of the league and a bank holiday tomorrow. What's not to like! Feared we were in for a real drubbing after 30 minutes yesterday when two down. Great fight back and brilliant to see Tommy Goss back and score that winning goal. You could see the whole atmosphere changing in the second half when him and Chris Johnstone were both on pitch. Still got four first picks to come back into the side so feeling a lot more positive than last week
  13. Hoping today everything clicks into place. No offence to the good citizens of Edinburgh but we owe you one after that play off defeat last year. The keeper, Schwake, was sensational last night and was sure he would move onto better things. In a positive mood just realised that if all results go our way we could ( highly unlikely I know) end August in seventh place. Can plane pour moi! Mon th Annan!
  14. You guys like your historic signs don't you. Today 2023
  15. Looking forward to this more in hope than expectation. Some of the QoS posters on here seem to getting inflated ideas of their standing in Scottish football. Without going all Kevin Keeganesque I would absolutely love an Annan win. Predication Queens 0 - Annan 1 ( Cross-Adair) Can plane pour moi!! Mon th Annan!!
  16. One for the nerds out there... If Wullie and Lewis Gibson both play has a father ever played against his son at this level? And who will the family be supporting?
  17. Assume this is a not so covert spying mission on behalf of MB? No issues with PATG . Home end turnstiles are beside the social club. Don't imagine street parking will be a problem. Just aim for North Street /Silverlaw/ Tweedie Terrace and park sensibly. Enjoy the show and remember not to wear your Queens colours...this week anyway.
  18. Bit early in the season to call this a must win for Annan but thinking more on the lines of a mustn't lose. Going by Murphys comments in the paper today we are still struggling fitness wise with our strikers. Hoping that Galloway or Garrity can step up. Without disrespecting the Mo, this is the type of game we have to win to have any chance of a decent season. No idea how we'll line up just expecting the unexpected and hoping for the best. Mon the Annan!!
  19. And in other news... last seasons young poty Max Kilsby returns on loan from Carlisle. Hopefully continues to show the form from last year.
  20. New Annan top. Being honest looks like some ones ridden a bike over it.
  21. Will echo Marco's comments. To add to this If you are in a position to partake in some liquid refreshments , The Shed and Blue Bell are both worth visiting. Mustn't forget the social club at ground welcomes all. Enjoy your day but hopefully not the result!
  22. Decent way to spend a Friday night even if it felt like Carlisle treated used it a glorified training session fielding two entirely different teams each half. Annan kept shape pretty well and disappointed to lose those two late goals . Thought Josh Dixon was impressive and up front created a few chances. Of potential Carlisle loanees would like to see Kai Nugent (no 23) at Galabank, and Kilsby would be more than welcome back. Excellent turnout of 1700 plus which shows how much we have missed the fitba!
  23. Falkirk Hamilton Cove Queens Stirling Montrose Alloa Annan Athletic FC Edinburgh City Kelty Hearts Confident that we will be in second place up until the 5th of August!
  24. Anything less than first will be seen as failure! To be honest though, 8th place ( or above) would be good. We like to take things slow and steady here at Annan.
  25. A big hello to all our new friends in league one! Looking forward to some fresh adventures after 15 seasons in the basement...
