  1. Completely appreciate those points. I said I believed it was convenient the timing as I very much doubt the tweets only came to their knowledge in the days following the match, but of course, I can’t prove that, it’s just a theory. And on the second point, I’m not entirely sure how it works but what you say seems plausible. However as an example, Clyde1 are an official partner of Celtic. If as you say, Celtic have made it clear what is expected then should they be held responsible for any controversial rants on there (such as Keevins last week regarding racism/sectarianism)?
  2. Aye, in fairness you’re correct that I never came out and condemned it, which is something I probably should’ve done before now.
  3. I think what I’d offer as any form of balance to that, is that people can have more than one thought or response to the situation. That’s human nature. Myself for example: firstly, I wholeheartedly believe the offensive tweets are unacceptable and any consequences that come the way of these guys will be deserved. However, I also agree with others that this has likely come about as a result of tabloid press being unhappy at the media restriction at Ibrox rather than any genuine attempt to highlight and call out sectarianism or bigotry. I also believe it is convenient that it was saved to be released in the wake of a big derby win for us. I haven’t made these points (until now) as I believe it doesn’t come across entirely well but it’s not to say I disagree with others who have made the point. Additionally, I think those in the media (Stewart and Spiers mainly) that are somehow attempting to hold Rangers as a club responsible for this are trying to set a dangerous precedent and know exactly what they are doing. Any media outlet can become an official media partner with Rangers if they choose to do so. If, for example, the Record had done so, would Rangers be responsible for the offensive tweets made by their employees that are now surfacing in retaliation to the article? No, they wouldn’t. I’m going to leave it there, but also make it clear this is not an attempt to detract from the original article, my feelings are clear it is unacceptable.
  4. If that's aimed at me, I don't think you're following the conversation very well.
  5. What he said wasn't strictly wrong to be fair - he said the record had dug up tweets of his calling Celtic beggars and saying Android phones were for the homeless and gypsies which is exactly what they attributed to him. It was the tweets from other podcast contributors which I was unaware of. I had, naively, assumed when he said what they'd dug up on him that was the extent of the article.
  6. As far as I believe, I think her offensive tweets have surfaced on twitter previously and nothing seems to have happened regarding her employment. I imagine it would only be an issue for her employer if a paper runs a story on it.
  7. Aye. I should clarify that the £117 is for the 3 match package, so £39 per match, which is still incredibly expensive. I just wasn't sure if you picked it up as though £117 was for a single match haha. And I agree on your other points - we don't really get an experience for the money we put in. We turn up, grab something to eat, watch the game and leave. Nothing fancy at all.
  8. The full price is £117 which is far too expensive. They know that mugs (like myself) will pay it though.
  9. David Edgar, the founder of the Podcast. He posted on another forum that this is what the Daily Record had dug up on him, which was partly correct as that is all they attributed to him. I just wasn't aware there were also tweets from other members of the podcast that had been found.
  10. In fairness, I made that comment before the article was published and the full extent of the tweets were revealed. I was led to believe that was the extent of the controversy.
  11. I see the Record are running an article tomorrow digging up old tweets from prominent members of the Rangers fan media group, Heart and Hand. I’ve seen online that a couple of them include referring to Celtic as beggars and another tweet where someone stated android phones are for the homeless and gypsies. Earth shattering stuff. It seems the tabloid media are not liking fan media now being favoured at Ibrox.
  12. Exactly. I wonder if the members they ask for feedback will be limited to, oh let me guess, 1 person.
  13. It hasn't really. I've already mentioned that judging Clarke on last night's match is probably a bit harsh given Denmark's quality. It does nothing to change my opinion though that we are struggling. How would you rate our squad? We are a mid tier nation in my opinion and we should be doing better than 1 win in 9. Any mid table club side goes with 1 win in 9 then questions start to get asked. Regardless if you don't expect us to win going into each individual match, the overall record is not good enough. If I came to you after the Serbia match and said "Look, here are our next 9 fixtures over the next 10 months, how do you think we will get on?" Do you really think you'd predict a single win and be content with that?
  14. I already commented that Denmark are one of the toughest opponents we could face right now. So if we discount the matches against them, England and Croatia - in 6 fixtures vs Slovakia, Israel x 2, Austria, Faroes and Czech Rep I don't think it is unrealistic to expect better than a solitary win.
  15. Since the penalty shoot out win vs Serbia, we have played 9 competitive matches: Lost away vs Slovakia Lost away vs Israel Drew at home vs Austria Drew away vs Israel Won at home vs Faroes Lost at home vs Czech Rep Drew away vs England Lost at home vs Croatia Lost away vs Denmark You keep mentioning people's expectations, suggesting that they are unrealistic, but is it seriously unrealistic to expect better than the results above? A single win at home against the Faroes? I don't think it's time to get rid of Clarke after an away defeat to Denmark as they are one of the toughest opponents in the world right now, but some of our play, particularly in the first half, was absolutely dreadful and we need to improve. The feel good factor has well and truly disappeared following our Euro qualification and we need to think objectively about how the team are doing.
  16. I never said it was all about me - I used the figurative "me" when I could have substituted it for any vaccinated person. Given that: The majority of the population have been vaccinated The vaccine limits and even eliminates symptoms for those that have been vaccinated meaning those that display worse symptoms (people that have not been vaccinated) are more likely to know they have it There is still a requirement to self isolate if you display symptoms, and The vaccine does not prevent transmission Then can it not be argued that you are more likely to be infected with Covid by a vaccinated person?
  17. My vaccine doesn't become any better because someone else gets vaccinated though. Vaccine passports serve no purpose to further protect those that have already been vaccinated.
  18. I just can't understand the reasoning for introducing it. They have stated it is to control the spread of the virus heading into Autumn and Winter, but the vaccine does not prevent transmission. Additionally, infection rates have been rising for a considerable period but is not deemed a major concern because deaths and serious illness has fallen compared to the period before vaccines were introduced. The vaccine of course reduces the seriousness of symptoms, but those unvaccinated are already extremely unlikely to develop serious or life-threatening symptoms. If they have chosen not to get vaccinated for whatever reason, then they are accepting the higher degree of risk, but they are not putting those who are vaccinated at any greater risk by doing so. I've always believed being vaccinated is a positive thing and am double-jabbed myself, but I don't think those that are not are in any way inferior and don't believe these measures are acceptable.
  19. I am sure fans of Hearts, Hibs and Aberdeen will also be impacted. And what of those fans that have decided that getting the vaccination is not for them?
  20. So the Scottish Government have plans to introduce vaccine passports for live events, including football matches with attendances over 10,000. Fans will therefore need to be double-jabbed to attend or risk being locked out. Shambles.
  21. Yeah, I definitely think our squad depth has been strengthened during the window, maybe not so much the first team but I think we're yet to see the best of Lundstram and Sakala while Bacuna is a bit unknown. If we look at each position and the realistic first team options available (when fit) then on paper it is a strong squad: Keepers: McGregor, McLaughlin, McCrorie Full Backs: Tavernier & Patterson, Barisic & Bassey Centre Backs: Goldson, Helander, Balogun, Simpson Midfielders: Jack, Davis, Kamara, Lundstram, Bacuna, Arfield Playmakers: Aribo, Hagi Wingers & Forwards: Wright, Kent, Roofe, Sakala, Morelos
  22. I’d be surprised if a £3m price tag put you off considering the sales you have made/are in the process of making and you were prepared to pay the same for Turnbull.
  23. Confirmation that Itten has joined Greuther Furth on loan in the Bundesliga. Hasn't really worked for him at Rangers as yet - hopefully this will give him much needed game time but I just don't think he fits well into our style of play.
