  1. We are habitual play off losers regardless of who has been in charge.
  2. Queen's Park Airdrie final on a knife edge currently. If Queens edge it and go up. Od we swoop in for Murray.
  3. I can see the boards point of view in terms if reigning in the finances following this season. McGlynn has spent a lot of money for us. Asides from you know who, there was Keatings f**k knows what that cost. Then there were the long term deals for Lang, Zanatta, Connolly, Stanton, Gullan and Ross plus whatever we negotiated to actually get him. So it can't be said he wasn't backed. 1
  4. Brown officially named as Fleetwood manager. Thats a big gamble for them a first time manager who has barely coached and never played in England. I think both parties are in for a shock. At least if it had been is he has a whole career in scottish football.
  5. I doubt Thomson is a target for any English club. I think he needs another job before then to prove he didn't win a diddy league with a budget that dwarfed everyone else combined.
  6. Just to kick a bit more life put the DG situation. If this is the case then the board have quite clearly gone for the cheapest option here. It also calls into question how much say McGlynn had over transfers. Also who negotiated this?
  7. Just waiting on a razzle five girl pile up.
  8. In fairness the courier are usually on the ball with this stuff
  9. Murray is mentioned in that, has he applied while Airdrie are in the play offs and looking like favourites?
  10. I'd imagine the applications are in and a short list is getting drawn up.
  11. I could well imagine some of the absolute seethe he would generate with other teams if he employed his shithousery through a whole team.
  12. We could play for some sort of little trophy just for good measure
  13. If any of you get the chance go to Kennilworth Road before it's gone. The place is an absolute shit tip and isn't really for for purpose. Imagine all the shite league 2 grounds with their rickety old stands and you'd lashed them all together to make a bigger ground and you're somewhere close. You even have to walk up steps that cross someone's garden to get in the away end. They've been told if they get up they can play there for 2 seasons in the Premier league until the new grounds ready.
  14. "Snakey Ray" might just have blown this wide open in fairness. He's experienced, knows the division was on the way up last time. Got the big move it went tits up, another couple of moves and back to the beginning. Not entirely different to McGlynn who got the move to Hearts that went bang, went to Livi that fell apart and ultimately came back to us. Although that's probably where the similarities end. He knows at least Mackie, Ross, Vaughan, Connolly and Benedictus from his time before. I'm not saying he's my pick but there is a lot going for him. Even if we were cynically employing him to steady the ship for a season to buy us some time.
  15. Can't be as bad as the Gary Locke Hearts fest at Starks Park.
  16. He's just had a heart attack the mad b*****d. This is a proper on the fence for me. He did well last time out by getting is to the play offs, his team played football and he had the ability to see where changes were needed. However the way he left was shite in all honesty, Bill Clark holding crisis talks with him in the Easter Road boardroom literally minutes/hours before we played the biggest game in years. His subsequent record is patchy at best although the sacking from Queens Park was bizarre.
  17. There's an article think it's on the other thread about Scott Brown wanting Whittaker as his assistant. For me a first time manager needs to have an experienced assistant. By all means have Whittaker on your staff but management is a minefield and there will be all kinds of stuff you won't even have considered. Especially on a tight budget with an interesting boardroom to put it mildly.
  18. Not sure what the dugs involvement in all this is.
  19. Would Scott Brown be a player manager or is he staying retired this time? Because our midfield is somewhat short at the minute.
  20. He can be cantankerous and frustrating but be patient and he will sort out the shit show you guys have become and have you aying decent football. He has great contacts in the game for loan signings and has an eye for a young player.
  21. Thing is as well as all the players we need to replace any new managers will look at the existing squad. The likes of say zanatta for example might not be their cup of tea and they want to replace him as well so this us going to cost the board club either transfer fees or paying wages for a player that won't play.
