I know money will be greater on the Europa, but the conference maybe gives hearts a better chance to compete evenly. Similar to why I think Celtic and Rangers are better in the Europa League than champions League. Much more fun to watch competitive games, than getting humped.

Rangers' Wee Spot in Europe - Season 2023/24

Am I the only one who thinks that the Braga goalie had the ball behind the line before Ramsey flattened him? -
I wonder what FIFA would have done if Ukraine were in Italy or Portugals playoff group...

If I was Welsh I would be f'ing raging right now. The 4 teams should take the highest rank.

That would be a hoot if we went from typically no teams to 3 teams in the group stages!

Rangers' Wee Spot in Europe - Season 2023/24

Rangers need a goal as they are going to concede again. -
I wouldn't like it to be a pen. But I think the current rules would give it as a pen if VAR was in play.

My memory is that criticism by Celtic's chairman, players and fans (using that word loosely) were a large part of it, along with how incompetent the SFA were/are. Please do correct me if I am wrong though as maybe I am getting influenced my reading it in this forum constantly. What did cause it?

Other than your own club…
Chonky replied to Kyle Reese's topic in Scottish Premiership General Chatter
Hearts? They still in with a chance? Old firm, hearts and Aberdeen as truthfully, I think they are the best suited to pick up coefficient points. Don't really care about top 6. But I do like the job Martindale is doing. I have a soft spot for the underdog, so I want Ross County to stay up, along with Livi. I like Goodwin and always impressed when I see St Mirren so let's save them as well. Not fussed about Dundee or St Js. So bye bye! (Or utd) Would like to see Arbroath and Thistle in top league to replace them. -
The Terrible Journalism & Tom English Thread

I assume he is trying to take the high ground and talk about forgiving society and rehabilitation etc. I agree there is a difficult conversation to have about what role convicted rapists have in society (as well as murders etc), however, in a public facing role forgiveness and acceptance has to be earned. Goodwillie has done absolutely nothing to move this forward. If anything, he is still dragging it backwards. I hope Clyde have the balls not to take him back. -

Yeah missed that, although in a strange sort of way, I think I want to go and find it on catch up to be be even more angered! -

I genuinely thought Spiers Twitter had been hacked. How can you miss the point so badly? -

Apologies if already posted, but... .... What the hell do rangers do on their winter break??? -

I am putting on record that I think this will be a bad move for club and player. No real reason, just a feeling. -
Follow Follow Rangers. Season 2023/24

Is he any good these days? Assume if this goes through (doubt it), lundstrum must be off to clear wages. I assume this has been made public to flush out English clubs. He will end up mid table in England. Or Newcastle! -
Celtic v Rangers Wed 2nd February
Chonky replied to Henrik's tongue's topic in Scottish Premiership General Chatter
So basically, neither team trusts each other. Excellent. When rangers first cut Celtics allocation, was there an imbalance in the away numbers? I have vague memories telling me that rangers used to give more tickets (higher percentage maybe?) To Celtic? With no away fans, both teams must make more money through no dividers and less stewards, so it will probably continue... -

Is there a difference between 'exclusive option to buy' and 'option to buy'? -
This thread is another example of SPFL incompetence. This has been a possible scenario since the beginning of the season, why there was not a protocol set up beggers belief. As a result, some teams will get a 'sporting advantage' and some a 'sporting disadvantage' depending on the way the vote goes. Farcical.

Celtic have a real chance of progressing a few rounds in Europe, rangers, less so. If Celtic want games postponed they are the club at most risk of struggling to fulfil fixtures. I am amazed (not really) that the Spfl have not been planning for this contingency for weeks as we all knew it was coming.

Staggies v Celtic, 15th December 2021
Chonky replied to The Great Stagsby's topic in Scottish Premiership General Chatter
Not sure what he said, but a booking seemed harsh since he took a sore one. Not convinced it is an elbow though, I think Starfelt has jumped into it more than anything. Accidental, in my opinion. I think it's a harsh penalty if given, although i have lost track of the actual rules these days for handball. -
The Glorious Heart of Midlothian FC v Sevco
Chonky replied to Kyle Reese's topic in Scottish Premiership General Chatter
Ref was card happy as he always is. Some of the bookings for both sides seemed extreme. Ginnelly has no complaints though, after already been booked, why get involved. He also set the tempo by walloping Barisic inside 7 seconds! I would say it was a penalty (assuming it was not out of play, impossible to say with lack of extra cameras). Big shout out to the two keepers who were outstanding and the best two players on the pitch (even if Gordon was a little naughty on Morelos, that's the type of nonesence you expect from McGregor!) -
Just went and saw it there. Wow. I certainly would not be celebrating that, I don't think it's fair for a team to get an advantage like that. ... Although, I think de gea(?) was at it slightly.

Never saw the match, but Celtic should have given the ball to hearts on the restart. It's a bit rubbish if they launched an attack from that situation.
