  1. Sweet. Let's agree to disagree. I think he was genuinely injured, and I don't think he had overrun it. I would not want my team to score like that. But agree with your sentiment that we don't want to encourage players going down if they lose the ball.
  2. Ok, your right, the ref was technically wrong. I was meaning morally. If ref had played on, hearts players should have stopped/kicked it out then (maybe they would have anyway). Regardless, you can't go up and score against a team when you win possession when a player pulls up injured like that - even though it would have been funny to watch the meltdown from Celtic fans!
  3. Def offside for goal. These things happen though and just poor officiating. No conspiracy. Kyogo needs telt that's not acceptable. Where is the Brown type character in that dressing room to sort him out? Also, that Jota incident is nothing. Ref rightly stopped play as Jota had the ball when he injured himself. It really is pathetic if people think it should be play on. Even Di Canio knows not to play on in those situations.
  4. Just caught the sportscene highlights. McCann got it spot on. Porteous was really unlucky as he caught Kent as he was trying to pull away. 100% a pen. I hate to say it, but credit to Beaten. He was in the right position , took his time and got it spot on. (I need to go wash my mouth out now).
  5. VAR would not have overturned it. It's a penalty. I do think he made a meal of it. Kyogo infuriates me. There is no need to carry on like that. The sooner SFA clamp down on this (and on other players who do it) the better. Embarrassing.
  6. Good to see paranoia is rife again. News flash - all fans thing refs are against them. The truth ? Refs are just mince. If you think there is a conspiracy go out and get some fresh air. Your beginning to sound like flat earthers and anti vaxers!
  7. I call bull****. Other splits are possible, but require further stewarding, police and inconvenience for fans. They are taking the easy way out.
  8. How is this still an issue in the modern age? Who has authority over this? Surly there is enough teams to push through a 50-50 split guarantee. What are club owners doing? Can they not all get together and put pressure on SFA/SPFL. Doncaster's argument about limited segregation in the stadium is a lie. There is plenty of segregation options, you just need to rejig the layout a bit. I also agree it is now time to end the traditional ends of the stadium. Out of date nonesence.
  9. Cheers . So player terms not rolled over from loan. So his agent will be telling him to not bother as he can make double in England.
  10. Jota looks like a class act. Anyone know what the loan is. Can Celtic just sign him, is the contract all agreed? Or is there scope for Jota to say no thanks I want to go to England instead... (Villa?)
  11. That's how the police and ref should have handled it. Well done to whoever that ref is. I don't give a rat's monkeys what the rules said. That decision is an absolute disgrace and ref and SFA should bend all rules to rescind that immediately.
  12. Really struggling to name a man of the match. You could make an argument for any of the 11. Absolutely immense.
  13. Excellent from Gordon and Tierney. What was Patterson doing? Did he misjudge it? Or was he nudged and it put him off his stride? Weird handball. There seemed no reason. Teams played well Tonight, roll on Denmark to bring us back to earth.
  14. Ross Wilson worked closely with Ronald Koeman at Southampton. GVB was assistant to Koeman at Feyenoord. There is a connection there. All be it, a bit dated...
  15. I think history will remember him fondly. He (Beale?) Got Rangers playing good football and turned them round from a laughing stock of Scottish football (Lennon helped as well). I hope he is a big success in England in the same way as Rogers as I think it reflects well on the Scottish game. If he flunks, it just helps rUK's narrative.
  16. So, if he goes... Who does he take with him? (Serious answers please...) Beale is a certain I assume. How about McAllister? Any players? Kamara and Kent? He seems to have a soft spot for Jack, but is he at that level?
  17. Apologies if I missed it, but can anyone explain to me how Celtic had 85% possession and only 2 shots on target (assume 1 was the pen?). That must be some sort of record? Well played livi for restricting them as they must have done a great defensive job. But it must have been an awful match to watch.
  18. You don't always see penalties given for this sort of thing. Technically, it's a foul and a penalty, but I do have a bit of sympathy with the ref here. As for the penalty which was given. Maybe technically it is correct decision, but a ref should be allowed to apply common sense, or the rule needs changed as giving a penalty does not feel morally right to me. It was handbags from the pair of them. Kyogo should also get a retrospective ban for that. Class player, but we can't allow that nonsense to fester. He was clearly at it. On a side point, how refreshing is it to see both old firm teams facing stiff competition in most of their games rather than walkovers. Really hope this league stays (relatively) tight!
  19. VAR seemed to work well at the euros, but less so in England and the uefa team competitions. I do believe we would be better having full time properly paid refs though that would attract a higher standard of ref. I also think it would be worthwhile having a joined up system with England. We could share refs and resource. Good experience for our refs, and gives us more variety in Whistler as well.
  20. This thread is comedy gold. The amount of grown adults in this thread that actually believe in a conspiracy theory is frightening. (That applies for all Rangers, Celtic and non old firm fans theories!!) I guess I know now why we have so many anti-vaxxers and flat earthers in Scotland. It's all the crazies who support football. The penalty was a soft penalty, simple as that. You can argue either way about its merits. The truth is, VAR would not have overturned it, as it was not a 'clear error'.
