I’m only interested in talking about his playing ability here on in, no doubt he will have learnt a huge lesson from his recent experience.

Much as I don’t like EK’s throwing money at anything that moves model, I can’t believe it could be more than a handful of players that would be anywhere near £500 a week. If it was the majority of the squad on that, the wage bill on players alone would be upwards of half a million, before other staff wages and costs are taken into account.

I couldn’t get down to Tranent last night as my daughter’s training didn’t finish in time, but as she was at Peffermill we managed to get a couple of hundred yards along the road to make this game in time. I thought Edinburgh Uni were very decent first half, for stretches in that half you would be hard pressed to work out the gulf in the sides. Heads went down second half, some crunching tackles going in, Gala are quite, err, streetwise would be the kindest way to describe some of the challenges, although they are a decent football team for all that. It got very cold, I had a very nice pie and there was some good cake selection to be had as well. Did a head count, reckon crowd was about 80.

Really pleased that Andy Rodden has agreed to stay until the summer of 2025, he’s been very impressive. Looking at the fixtures, may be available again after the Kilwinning cup tie if I have counted right?

The Athletic article is behind a paywall for me. I can see stuff on The Mirror’s website about the investment scheme that went down with many millions of debt. This just seems a weird appointment all round.

You’ve probably seen that the game with Cowdenbeath has been arranged for Tuesday 31 October at Central Park.

I see that the game against Albion Rovers postponed when we were both on Viaplay Cup duty has been arranged for Tuesday 31 October at Central Park. Any date appropriate puns welcome.

I mean this with absolutely no disrespect to the East Kilbride fans on here as seem a decent bunch, but the sooner you guys get promoted and get the f*#& out this league, the better it will be for everyone. The money thrown at the running of the club this season must be eye watering, I would love to know the ‘real’ cost of running this squad in the 23/24 season, probably put Berwick’s recent losses in the shade. Never know, so not really something can measure. But the beauty of it is that if someone has that money to spend, and is happy to do so and write it off, then it’s difficult to argue with how EK are going about it. I think you guys are stick ons not only to win the league (not a bold prediction) but to come through both play offs and into the league. Be shocked if the bottom club in SPFL2 could cope with you. I suppose there is always the chance that another team will try the same route next season, Tranent seem to be retreating in the throwing money about stakes, but maybe they will regroup and have another go next season.

Absolute must win at the weekend, or dare I say it, the season is in danger of fizzling out to some extent. I personally believe that losing those injury time equalisers in 3 games has had a bit of an effect on the psyche. If we’d been sitting on 19 points at the moment instead of 13 it would seem so much better, we’d all feel a lot more positive. I know there will be things going on that the fans don’t see and we have had terrible luck with injuries, but as fans what we see on the park is all we can really go on.

Wasn’t there today, doing some afternoon drinking, which is rare for me. Disappointing result.

Zander Murray back to Gala, a proven goalscorer at LL level, so a great signing for Gala.

Just watched the video, echo what you say. Robbie has an amazing attitude, so positive and you can completely understand his outlook on making the most of the here and now. Probably brought it home that his Dad must be months apart in age from me. So who knows how much time or quality time we all have. And his poor Mum as well, seems such a lovely lady, I feel like a wee greet

I don’t understand the Callum Murray club statement from yesterday, anyone elaborate? Well, I understand the statement, but you know what I mean.

Good move for him, be interesting to see if he can still scores goals at that level. Given decent service, I suspect he can.

There is is a reasonably sized car park at the ground shared with the leisure centre, you may get in there. Some on street parking outside, but I have parked a few times at Morrisons on Ferry Road a couple of minutes walk away without issues. There are signs saying 3 hour parking limit, so should be fine, they have a really large car park.

It’s a wonderful place, you can lose hours in there, and it feels like you have been in 15 minutes.

Just listened to this week’s podcast, took it well, no excuses or tears.

Imagine this level of research could be really interesting and frustrating in equal measures.

Outstanding work

As far as the game at Linlithgow, you may get a pleasant surprise. The players who have been asked to find new clubs will surely have to mostly play if Berwick want them to be attractive to another team, then enable Berwick to get their salary off the books. Effectively they might be playing for a new job (although Berwick would have to presumably honour their contract if no one wants them), so the under performing ones could up their game. Maybe no real consolation as it will only be temporary if they move on shortly. Linlithgow will be really difficult, they are licking their wounds a bit after getting pumped out the Scottish Cup by the minnows from Cowdenbeath.

Christ, can all see the schools are on strike for a few days.
