  1. That’s a really cool idea, with the top leagues not being in action good chance of some bumper crowds.
  2. A bit of random occurrence happened to us this evening. As it was a beautiful night we decided to go along to watch Dalkeith Thistle v Musselburgh Athletic under 20’s. Dalkeith play their homes games at the Dalkeith High School astro cage. We got there about 5 minutes before the 7.30 start to find the players coming off the pitch. Apparently a bit of the pitch had been vandalised overnight and the ref deemed it unplayable. A bit of quick thinking, presumably a couple of phone calls, and it was arranged that they game could go ahead in the big team’s ground at King’s Park along the road. So a convoy of players, officials parents and supporters back in their cars and along to Dalkeith. The game kicked off about half and hour late, and it was a really good game. Musselburgh won 4-2, which was perhaps expected, but Dalkeith were ahead twice and gave a good account, were very dangerous on the break. Decent crowd as well, counted around 70. An enjoyable evening in a nice wee ground.
  3. Are they under the illusion that 2000 students turn up for each and every game.
  4. Quite bizarre, two teams in the lower half of the LL. No rivalry, history between them or anything like that.
  5. Game at Peffermill between Edinburgh Uni and East Stirling could be really interesting.
  6. It puts it a bit into perspective that Tranent were able to bring on both Dean Brett and Kalum Higginbotham as second half subs last night.
  7. You’re flogging this ‘Cowdenbeath throwing money about like it’s going out of fashion’ schtick to truly tedious levels now.
  8. Don’t know what the back story is with that, as far as I can see he left Tranent with no announcement, which is odd as he was club captain last year. I asked a while back on the Tranent thread about it, but no real response. Guess Craig has called it a day, sure he could still do a job for someone if he was of a mind to.
  9. Should be a good tie, probably not a draw either club would have chosen by any means, but should get a good crowd in. Guessing you guys will bring decent numbers?
  10. What are you doing on Pie and Bovril, you’ve got programmes to prepare
  11. They got Clydebank at home, extremely tough, they might have wished for a kinder home tie.
  12. Oh well, at least we are at home, and they are kind of a new team to play. The very first team out the hat
  13. I’ve kinda got used to BTU’s ways, he doesn’t bother me, and even does post the occasionally lucid and reasonable opinion. He’s just on a massive fishing expedition here, fine well he knows Cowden are not chucking the money at players.
  14. Bit of fun, If you could pick the draw for the 1st round of the Cup, who would you take? A long road trip to some far flung outpost like Wick, a ‘glamour’ tie against the megamoneyed galaticos from East Kilbride or simply the lowest ranked team to give us best chance of progress? I don’t want a boring LL team like Broomhill, CSS or anyone like that, no disrespect. There are bunch of East Of Scotland teams through this year, some of them away would be really tough, as would some of the West Of Scotland teams. I’m going to go for Dalkeith Thistle away as my dream pick. They are the only EOS 2nd division team through so have really done well. My daughter plays for one of Thistle’s girls team now and got a bit of gentle stick when turning up for training in a Cowden top from the coach, so revenge would be sweet. I’ve not seen a match at Kings Park, but know the park it’s situated in, and it looks a neat wee enclosure.
  15. Folk that work for newspapers (refuse to call them journalists any more), have such an easy job, just sit in your armchair, open the internet and the stories will come to you.
  16. Mick’s sobered up and deleted the rather aggressive and offensive tweets. Screenshots aplenty of the tweets will live on though. I said on this forum a week or two back that there was something about him that I couldn’t take to. I hadn’t really followed him all that closely, so I was fairly mild in my comments of him, but it’s now clear that he is an out and out narcissistic p***k. Give him the Gretna or East Stirling job with their existing resources and see how much of a genius he is.
  17. Scottish Cup 1st round draw tonight, it’s live on Scottish Cup YouTube channel at 7.30pm. Some strong teams in there, be good to get someone at home, from outside the LL.
  18. Your manager is losing the plot big style on Twitter tonight. Don’t know the back story with the new Darvel manager but Mick’s gone off on one, big swearys and everything.
  19. Did Liam B have a hissy fit at the end as he never got a ball?
  20. Amen to that, I was watching a very low level match in Somerset with about 15 people there, getting the updates on Twitter. After the second went in I felt no anxiety at all, I could sense the boys had it in hand The travelling fans will have had a fantastic day
  21. I’m feeling a bit out of things as have missed the Broomhill and EK games and will also miss today and Tuesday due to other football commitments and visiting family. Back for the Gala game next Saturday, looking forward to that. Hope everyone has a great day, and it doesn’t go like the league game at Berwick went last season . I think we might be downplaying our chances a bit, understandably so, hit them with a surprise, and please please keep you know who quiet.
