  1. Just listened to the Lowland League preview from a couple of weeks ago, decent listen despite the scurrilous nastiness about Central Park. Think you might have overestimated Albion Rovers prospects though
  2. Yeah that’s great news he is staying until at least through the new year.
  3. I think it’s too early to tell for most teams, certainly in Rovers case where you have only played 1 league game. I would say after each team has played 6 or 7 games and faced teams of different standards in the league it will be easier to judge. The standard does feel stronger than last year, so there could be a whole cluster of clubs who could finish anywhere between 6th and 14th and there may not be that much between them in reality.
  4. £5/£2/free on Friday, what’s not to like about that?
  5. Bloody hell, that was a turnaround
  6. Up until very recently Football Nation had last season’s home and away tops on sale half price. They had various sizes, though not all sizes now available. They seem to have disappeared now from the website but you could always email or give them a call in case might have some still in their stock room. I’ve ordered quite a lot kids football gear from them over last couple of years and they are very helpful. EBay has quite a few random Cowdenbeath shirts from different years, some reasonably priced, pot luck with the sizes of course. There seems to be quite a few shirt sellers from Ukraine strangely enough (where do they get them?!) but they have really good feedback so must be genuine and ship to the UK without issues (not tried myself I must add). Edit : Just realised you were talking about player shirts, so you can ignore the bit about Football Nation. EBay has one or two that might be player worn I think.
  7. There seems to be a wee bunch of podcasts cropped up recently covering the non leagues, good stuff, will give it a listen.
  8. Yeah Craig got a few starts, got injured in his third start after about half an hour from memory, Cammy kept his place for the rest of the season (not that there was a lot of the season left) and Craig didn’t get another start. Strange he didn’t get a club for 22/23 as was only just past 30, and had played a decent level, perhaps he just wasn’t bothered with the grind, as I don’t think he had played that season up to when Maurice Ross picked him up early in 2022.
  9. Just like to give a shout out to @silkybeath and family, and anyone else who helps with the club shop. Lots of new stock, different stuff seems to be coming in all the time. Elise was wanting one of those ‘coo print’ bucket hats so we had to make sure we were in sharp in the hope of snagging one, and she did. Also, there were a couple of boxes of old player tops/training kit and things, and there was a yellow goalie top from 21/22 season with number 17 on it. I said it couldn’t be her favourite Cammy Gill’s shirt with him being number 1, but we’ll get it anyway. Was flicking through programmes last night from that season, and what do I find but a photo of Cammy with number 17 on it when he came on for Craig McDowall who got injured in the first half against Stirling in April. So she’s claiming it as a match worn Cammy shirt now.
  10. Decent player though was maybe not quite ever fully fit. I guess he just wasn’t what the new manager was looking for, and maybe best for all he loved on. Apparently he was excellent in Cowden’s win at Berwick at the tail end of last season, presumably why Berwick are having a look at him.
  11. An eagle eyed fan on the Berwick thread noticed that Andy Black was a trialist sub for Berwick today and came on near the end.
  12. Yeah, left about 10 days ago; http://www.cowdenbeathfc.com/index.php?act=viewNews&id=3471
  13. Even more ironic that it was given a temporary safety certificate for the end of season play off matches and was used, but now it’s deemed not fully compliant for some bureaucratic nonsense reason.
  14. I thought overall the ref was ok today. He tried to keep the game moving, there were a few times where he let the play run, and would pull it back if there was no advantage, mostly in our favour, sensible refereeing. Maybe a little fussy with a couple of bookings but generally ok. That doesn’t go for the stand side linesman who looked about 14, completely indecisive, half the time he was looking to the referee before he made his call. One thing I forgot about, not sure if anyone else had a good view? We sat in the old stand as it was peeing down at the start, and I was convinced that the corner on the stand side that led to their first goal given by the teenage lino was a goal kick to us. We were pretty close to it and I was sure it wasn’t a corner. I’ve been wrong before though and will be again.
  15. I don’t know what the official added time was, but I honestly didn’t think it was too bad. I looked at my phone as the second half started and it was 4.03 I think, so there was maybe 4 minutes added on, the goal went in about the third minute of stoppage time?
  16. Absolutely scunnered after that, always the chance with the slender lead of that happening. As others have said that save the goalie had where the free kick took a wicked deflection and he twisted back the other way was fantastic. Rattling the bar as well. That being said, the Strollers play a horrible brand of football, hoist the ball forward and hope for the best. Cynical at times as well, just an awful team to watch, not surprised their crowds are tiny. Thought the crowd of 305 was decent today, good to build on. Played Strollers in April and there were 213 there.
  17. Yeah, you guys will know faces that you haven’t seen so much in recent years, so that is encouraging to hear. It’s not right to put pressure on the players this early to say we need to do this or that, but a good performance and hopefully a win would give everyone another big lift.
  18. Hope some fans who have drifted away last couple of seasons can be tempted back, starting today. There will be next to no Strollers fans, so will be interesting to see what our support is today and if there is a wee boost. The players, staff and volunteers around the club deserve it, so I hope so.
  19. Just about every fixture has got something interesting, be it teams continuing their strong starts, or some surprising strugglers (not looking at you Berwick, honestly) needing to kick start their campaign. Or just the downright strugglers looking for something, anything, positive to give them a boost.
  20. Interesting, thanks. I wonder why that was the case (more so than any other from the period), if they hardly printed any for that match for some reason? Looks like the game was played on the correct date, first weekend in January, so nothing weird there.
  21. Question perhaps for @cowdenbeath or @Cowden Cowboy, is this programme ultra rare for some reason? He priced it at £100 last night and now down to £75. If it’s the guy I think it is, a dealer from Kilmarnock, he has always priced his items on the high side, but this seems, wow.
  22. Noticed that Spartans/Rangers B is £15 for adults/£10 concessions tonight. Get a grip the both of you.
  23. They’ve not played any LL games yet.
  24. That must have felt magnificent today, sticking it up Max and the grim faced Tranent director chaps in the matching jackets (do they still wear them in the warm weather ). Their faces would be tripping them even more than the day they told the referee at Cowdenbeath the pitch was unplayable, and the referee said ‘eh, no it’s no’.
  25. Surprisingly solid start, two wins and a narrow defeat from one of the financially doped teams. This league promises much this season.
