  1. Cheers, there was nothing on the club Twitter about it, I’m not on Facebook so I hadn’t seen anything.
  2. Anyone know if the draw for the beautiful Central Park painting has been made yet? I’ve been keeping a space free above the mantelpiece
  3. Good post match interview up on BBTV with Calum Elliott. Quite correctly he said that next Saturday is the priority, so I expect some changes to Tuesday night’s team. Dougie Hill definitely deserves a wee breather after a great shift yesterday. I thought he and Gregor Jordan dealt very well with probably one of the best attacking line ups in the bottom two divisions.
  4. Good memory about Davie Weir, I don’t recall him managing anyone full stop! Looking at wiki it seems to have been fairly short lived. They have fluctuated a lot around the leagues in the last decade, forgot they came back up again at the end of last season.
  5. We (me, wife and 12 year old daughter) came back last week from Kos, stayed in a quieter part of Kos town, absolutely loved it. 15 minute walk to the old town/port which is the busy area, but mostly families and couples. Some groups of blokes and girls but nothing outrageous, a really relaxing holiday, would go back anytime. Great restaurants, reasonable prices for food and drinks.
  6. Things I learnt from the match programme: Harry Maguire appeared at Central Park for Sheffield United in a pre season friendly 10 years ago and had an assist. I’m sure a lot of you remember the game, but hand on heart, who really remembers Harry as he was a relatively unknown youngster?
  7. After Cowden equalised I expected a Montrose onslaught as 3 points were vital for them, but it was ourselves that pressed last 15 minutes and had better chances, just couldn’t get a decent shot away. The winger was Zac Butterworth, was with Caley Braves last season, he was giving the Montrose defence all sorts of problems, especially early doors. Also impressed with Jamie Docherty (number 11), he’s rapid when he gets into his stride. Just think our attackers lack a little composure, but overall delighted so far.
  8. Definitely, have held our own now against teams in each of the three leagues above us, that must give some optimism of a decent season. Could have been a couple of goals ahead today before Montrose woke up. Both teams had plenty chances throughout the game. I think the two money bags team in the LL will be stronger than anyone else, but hopeful of a top 6 place minimum.
  9. Bottled f**k all, the performance and result over 90 minutes are all that mattered to us.
  10. Cracking new design and cover for the Cowdenbeath programme. 48 pager double header (I expect the regular issue will be 40 pages). The revamp inside is very well done, sleek lines and layout, with the usual superb content.
  11. Very good result for you boys today, well done Rovers.
  12. Didn’t care about the extra point for the penalty shoot out, the performance and draw on the day were the important thing, a fantastic effort from the team. So quick out the blocks, could have had a couple of goals before Montrose got organised, then they came back into the game strongly. Both teams had great chances, and both goalies were on great form. I was sad to see Danny Farrell go, but my, Craig Hepburn is a keeper all right. Good performances all over the pitch. Nice to see the players come over to the fans at the end who had been giving good support all afternoon. Just need to get some of the lapsed fans back, be great to get some sort of publicity drive going to try and get them along to the game, to see this team who are going to have a good season, am sure of it.
  13. Did Craig Barr leave the club in the close season? I don’t remember reading anything about that.
  14. Hearts only charged £5 for adults last year at Rosewell, not that it really helped crowds by the looks of things. Not sure about the uglies B teams last season.
  15. Neither club has much of a presence here, so thought might as well post on the general thread. Free entry to Ainslie Park tomorrow night for the first LL game of the season, Hearts B v Gretna. Decent gesture by Hearts, might get some curious fans in (and by that I don’t mean the Hearts support in general )
  16. Noticed that the tickets for Saturday at home to Montrose are available on Fanbase, £12/£6, which seems to be an agreed amount for the Viaplay. Always found the Fanbase app decent and easy to use.
  17. Such a result against a team 3 leagues above must surely confirm our rightful place in the competition for next season as well.
  18. If he hits he ground running like Iain Davidson did, pretty close in age, will be a great signing.
  19. Nice one, didn’t expect to hear from anyone there Hope he gets regular game time, it’s what any player that age needs. I think he was mostly sub in his period at Rosyth last season, though still notched a few goals here and there.
  20. In our regular series of ‘where are they now’ personal favourite Chris Aikamhenze has signed for Armadale Thistle. Only his second start and he has notched a first half double tonight in a friendly. Good luck at Armadale Chris.
