  1. Still not showing as updated for me... still just Glenrothes on the 16th! Kick those web people harder! Is Sat 23rd likely to remain free? Asking for social based Sri Lankan curry purposes....
  2. Na... there have been games where it has been excellent on the eye, but majority has been digging in, grinding out results and like today, doing just enough.
  3. If anyone didn't deserve to lose today, it was the Penicuik 'keeper. Some of his saves were excellent and the first half double save he made was unbelievable! But again, things just going our way when we need them and Errols clever flick just hit the right side of the post to go in! A game where Broxburn should have been out of sight, but somehow just never got another. Looks a pretty young side that Penicuik have just now, if they even just keep that squad together they'll naturally just be better still next season and beyond. Still laughing at potentially the worst linesman decision ever when he totally missed a boy literally dribbling the ball out of play beside him and gave throw-in to him!
  4. That's no way to talk about Fife Council....
  5. Sam North/Footy Adventures was along for a "Glasgow" derby https://youtu.be/Rut-1sxl4PQ?si=V-49zLQtqg3Q0HRk
  6. And other than 2 or 3 games, all Broxburn matches have been very close and other than the bottom 2 who look doomed, any of the others are gonna make it a tough match to get anything from... and one thing Broxburn seem to enjoy is making hard work of it!
  7. Woaahhhhh less of that crazy talk! Still getting a bit dizzy at the heights we are at! If the main chasing teams (realistically Musselburgh and Jeanfield) start dropping points with their games in hand, then we look in a healthy position... but if they win them all and beat Broxburn in the return matches, it gets very very tight. The Sauchie penalty yesterday was, if I'm generous to the lad, woeful! The wife was concerned it might hit her (miles away, but she flinched)
  8. The difference from last season to this is phenomenal and so many of the close 1 goal victories we grind out are exactly where points were dropped last season. Can see such an attitude difference in the squad and it is wonderful to see.
  9. You have to scratch you head over how Sauchie dropped so many points early in the season. Two tough games against them and delighted to be out of that with 4 points!
  10. Just come across this on YouTube... hopefully not too painful, but a wee look back...
  11. Oh definitely. That's what I mean by current regimes naivety, lack of due diligence and poor communication. Previous regime caused the situation the club is in. Current regime brought on the punishment by not declaring it and being open.
  12. 6 points does seem harsh, but it means can City finish with 2 more victories over the season than Annan will to cancel that out. Annan are also struggling and finding L1 tougher than L2. That target starts on Saturday where an Annan win probably ends that glimmer of hope for City. But as someone mentioned above, this is a chance to play the kids for half a season before going down... and an inexperienced team with half a season if L1 football behind them might just about be competitive in L2 with the right additions of experience around them. There is no doubt that full blame lies in the decisions of the previous regime who have lumbered city into this position. But it seems current regime have maybe been a bit naive and possibly invested into the dream, being supporters, rather than doing proper due diligence on the state club was in. Definitely guilty also of poor communication. I'm sure City will get through this one, but unless they can move grounds and really put down roots in a community, I do think they may just keep going season to season.
  13. Somehow today's match against Crossgates went ahead... pitch looked awful! And 2nd half especially it was cutting to pieces with a big section in the middle where almost no one could keep their footing! Crossgates made Broxburn work hard for it in the first half, taking the lead with a great goal. Excellent equaliser just before half time probably saved Broxburn. 2nd half Broxburn were more dominant, got in front, got awareded a fortunate penalty which was well converted and as the Crossgates heads dropped added a 4th to make it look comfortable. Second week in a row Nick Locke has had to go off injured and he didn't look good hobbling off. Hope the lad is at least given a good couple of weeks to let all niggles clear up or anything more serious properly rested.
  14. Looking at the table, the one thing Glenrothes have for them over the others in the bottom 4 is goals... so that may give them a slight advantage over the others and maybe get closer to the next group of teams. Crossgates gave Broxburn a pretty tough match today, but once a couple of decisions went against them and they went behind their heads dropped a bit and what was a tight game turned into a comfortable winning margin... not the sort of form for Crossgates to rally and get away from the bottom places.
  15. And has passed inspection! Unexpected, but a pleasant surprise!
  16. 2nd Division, 3rd Division and King Cup all wiped out so far... and a fair few others off as well.
  17. The frost has mostly lifted, the temperatures have gone up... and the rains are coming! Expect all the Astro-pitches to be fine, but the grass ones have had a hard week... any gonna be dropping? Not seen any news of inspections yet, but I'm sure they'll soon come in... I see a few games in the West have already been pulled.
  18. I think the bottom 4 teams currently look like the will be the bottom 4 for the season. All are just a little adrift. I know there are games in hand... but even winning all of these, they would still be behind and can't see them winning all! Kinnoull and Luncarty look to be already away... they both had great seasons last season and have now had an idea of the standard a division up for if they want to build and go for it again. Crossgates and Glenrothes are left to fight over 3rd/4th bottom... and hoping it's a season where only 3 go down. I just think, with the slight clear out of players, that Crossgates will drop to that 3rd bottom place.
  19. Treated the wife to a day out at our first ever trip to Holm Park... except she forgot her contact lenses, so was effectively blind - which turned out to mostly be a smart move. First half was pretty honking, neither side offering too much. Thought Bankies slightly edged it and got in front in stoppage time. Second half was a much better viewing experience. Talbot seemed to find an awful lot of space along the Bankies backline and got level. Just as you thought Talbot were getting on top, Clydebank came up with a worldy into the top corner which proved to be a worthy winning goal. Really decent wee set up at Holm Park, proper nice little football ground.
  20. Well last night ticks the box of another great 3 points... but my god that last 15 minutes was hard work! We seemed to be comfortable at 2-0... then Hutchy pulled one back and panic stations! Their goal, great strike, but the lad who set it up should have been stopped long before he got his pass away, very good wee player though. Can see why Hutchy have got themselves 2nd. Big, physical hard working side... but 2 or 3 players who actually can play and a fair bit of pace in the team as well. Broxburn, despite hanging on, have done brilliantly to get the win - a lot of sides are going to drop points there. Any ideas what the big number 4 was sent off for at the end? I seem to have completely missed it?
  21. There is quite a big parking area right beside the ground. If you get there early, should be ok for a space. Failing that, there is on-street parking just beyond the opening for the ground (past petrol station) - easily get parked there and be within a 5 min walk.
  22. I see Liam Campbell has moved onto Blackburn - he'll do very well for them! Sorry to see him go, I quite liked him as a player... but with a few new additions and him finding himself behind Miller in the squad, it does make sense.
  23. He made his debut for us on Saturday... and we did lose a goal being hit on the break!! But definitely not down to him, more players being out of position questioning a ref decision! He looked fairly solid the rest of game and looked to get up and down a very heavy pitch pretty well...
