  1. The WoS have had their “throw everyone in and see how they land” season, so this would anger a lot of middle-to-lower Premier teams. Additionally, it would lead to most teams being relegated pretty quickly. Look at Bonnyton for reference. Either you put the South on the same step as West D4, maybe with the top teams in D3, or you leave it standalone. Could be with a view to creating a Division 5 but can’t see the likes of Dalbeattie or Saints wanting to travel to Campbeltown if they don’t get promotion though
  2. £2 free bet on the donkeys with Sky Bet, with a few races at York offering 1/5 odds on seven places with tasty prices. Naturally I’ve done an E/W coupon across all races, look forward to my 92 grand this time tomorrow
  3. The fact it came from “rose.west@thejailrosewestisin.tiscali.net” probably
  4. Two Scottish (9th) teams beating Swiss opposition (13th) makes it so much sweeter, they’re less than five points behind us. Three teams guaranteed group stage fidba too, but how mental would FIVE be
  5. They are, those are just the games involving South teams
  6. It was up for ten seconds before I deleted it and I still got caught didn’t hit the button when I typed it
  7. I regularly check the Recent Deaths page on Wikipedia (I’m a cheery guy like that). The fact his surname and his eponymous chat show are in the entry, but the cause of death isn’t, made me think he’d died of Parkinson’s
  8. It’s been that long since I was last able to access the enrolment/results portal that I can’t remember what it’s called, but it’s definitely still not available and I haven’t seen any update on graduation/enrolment in the regular updates they’ve been emailing to our studentmail inboxes. I’d be intrigued to know if the folk that copy and paste from AI chatbots get flagged for plagiarism; surely what gets spat out has come from somewhere and is based on existing literature. I’ll admit I have in the past asked ChatGPT to suggest something to reference but it’s blatant cheating to ask it to answer questions and fully discuss entire theories.
  9. Zeke to the Patriots?! The epitome of “mind him?” but certainly a step up from Stevenson
  10. This is all you need to see cm-chat-media-video-1:daba2d04-2400-40a2-97cc-e2b9071438c2:1542:0:0.mov
  11. So DAZN has a number of pay per view channels on Sky - is there a way to watch Game Pass on my Sky Q box?
  12. Passed my final module at uni. Went to Napier straight out of school, dropped out before the end of Y3 to take a full time job. Enrolled at UWS at the start of the covid era, having to redo third year and a bit of second year because the degree name was a bit different. After several delays I got to my final module in the spring; then UWS got ransomwared so results only got published yesterday. Just a plain BA, undecided on continuing to honours but I have a year to make the decision. The main thing is that when I left Napier I promised myself I’d finish what I started and I’m finally there
  13. Perhaps this would work in a professional league in between transfer windows (presume it would need to be the same squad), but in grassroots football where stag dos and every-other-Saturday shifts affect your availability it’s perhaps less cut and dry
  14. The crowd had to run a half marathon to get onto the park - they are categorically not doing it unless they’re running towards the wee man. Safety issue caused by him, yellow card, and he knows he already on a booking. Silly.
  15. Refereeing isn’t a squad of Masons out to get you, but it’s a massive clique and largely unfair in terms of who gets to the top - you have to fit the mould the old boys look for. What are the fees like these days? I ask because anyone below Category 3 will gain the best experience in the West, but if you’re acting as an assistant you’re giving up your Saturday afternoon for (what certainly used to be) 25 quid. There’s the other reason most of the guys to make it to the very top are from Glasgow/Lanarkshire; money isn’t everything but imagine having to travel from Stirling, Dumfries etc and making a massive financial loss for several years for the sake of what, for many, is and always will be a hobby. The flip side of this is that unless you’re an historically minted junior side, you can’t afford the increased cost of officials if they get paid more - for example when Threave were in the Lowland they paid the refs more than they took on the gate. Maybe if the big wigs can sort out more suitable commercial deals then the smaller clubs who currently have little opportunity to get into the SPFL can see some of that extra cash trickled down to them?
  16. My partner was diagnosed with autism last summer, just shy of her 27th birthday, and also got an ADHD diagnosis earlier this year. Given that she found out so late she’s just struggled on and has done really well for herself, and I suppose those of the old school persuasion would see it as “mild” or “high functioning” but we all know it ain’t that simple. She’s always been very reactionary, her mood goes from 100-0 instantaneously, and she goes “mental” when something sets her off (more so when she’s drunk). Turns out she’s having an autistic meltdown in the case of the latter. She’s always needed to have full control of any situation she is in, so she books trips and holds on to our passports and documents. I also need to tell her when we need to leave/arrive as well as any issues we may encounter so she is prepared for them. She was told when she was a teenager that she has EUPD/BPD as many girls are in her situation and, while she accepted it as fact, she always said that it didn’t quite fit her. She’s the bread winner in the house by a considerable margin because she went straight into employment after school since she wasn’t academically excellent, and takes great pride in her work and is damn good at it hence her progression up the ladder. She gets so hyper focused that she seldom takes a lunch break and ends up burnt out by 5pm (she is the cook so we have more takeaways than the average household even though we get Gousto to help with planning). Despite earning a very good wage she skinned herself a couple of years ago when she had several special interests on the go at the same time. Her social life was destroyed by COVID to the point where she’s been on one night out this year and has two real friends, before this she was a party animal who had little sense of control and found herself in bad situations. We are both still coming to terms with it and adjusting as she unmasks and begins to accept who she really is; she was so blind to her actions and personality pre-diagnoses that she argued that my observations were incorrect until she was blue in the face. It sounds bad but I’ve been telling her since I met her in 2015 that she’s autistic and she went from total denial, to being open to the possibility, to obsessing over it and realising she needed tested. To my own detriment I didn’t change my own approach towards her until she had it confirmed, I’m constantly learning through reading about the experiences of others and also her becoming more aware of what she needs (ie alone time, help with forms etc). I could go on forever but it’s overwhelming even for me, never mind her having to live it.
  17. ETA: I’ve went off on a rant here, just click the link if it’s tl;dr Not sure if this has been covered already but the audacity of it is astonishing. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-birmingham-66459842 A property developer buys a recently closed, well known pub. It gets ransacked to such an extent that any chance of it reopening as a pub is gone. Last week an application is lodged for it to be made a proper listed building, but the new owners also hire a digger. It goes up in flames on Saturday, and the access road is blocked by a pile of dirt/rubble meaning the fire service can’t attend as efficiently as they needed to. Planning permission is lodged for partial demolition of the unsafe parts of the building on Monday and, on the same day, the aforementioned digger is used to knock the whole thing down. The dirt pile has been added to in the intervening period. If the big boss of the new owning company wasn’t a woman I’d praise the size of their testicles for attempting something so audacious (obviously no proof but come on to f**k)
  18. Spain has the right idea: Your 25 man squad has numbers 1-25 Your keepers wear 1, 13 and 25 If you use a reserve player you give them numbers 26-50 Lump it None of this edgy continental pish which has crept into our leagues from the Premiership to the WoSFL
  19. I’m in utter disbelief at this news… is he f**k only 47?!
  20. Can someone from UWS pay this ransom so their staff can get around to sending our results out? Surely people on resits and ECs have enough to stress about without their marks being three and a half weeks late
  21. First ever trip to Easter Road last Thursday because I was that desperate to watch a game of football. Everyone was ragin until the main man Martin Boyle turned up, highly enjoyable thereafter. Bovril passed the test, but £4 for a bag of Haribos is mental filtered-8FF46893-B76A-4E91-A4AC-97EC6572ABC2.mp4
  22. But harsh on a team that haven’t lost a competitive game in four months, and are unbeaten at home for five months? Granted they were guff tonight but they’re hardly diddy.
  23. For me he was better in the second half (I had him on for a booking on my coupon)
  24. Bagged two tickets for the game on the 12th, just the 100% markup Mainz are playing Darmstadt on the Saturday as well, although I’m not sure the missus will let my dad and me go off and do our own thing two days out of four (she and my mum are coming for touristy reasons)
  25. Cupar Hearts visiting newly Couper-less Vale. Should have postponed his retirement purely for the headline
