  1. Dykes is exactly what we need: a big lump to run about and fritter the last few minutes away at the right end of the park
  2. Hopefully Stuart Armstrong doesn’t do “Scotland’s Stuart Armstrong” things
  3. Fabian Delph has retired at the age of 32: https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/63052878.amp A truly bang average career ended t̶o̶o̶ ̶s̶o̶o̶n̶
  4. Don’t know how niche this question is but it’s been bugging me. Does anyone else constantly see a guy called Jeremy Keller replying to every mortal news article asking a baity question so he can say “my BBC article is about Olympus Mons”, because I do and it’s driving me up the wall. What’s his ulterior motive, because all of his 2000-odd tweets are exactly the same
  5. In 2022 this shouldn’t be a landmark moment for Scottish football, but it really is. Between this gentleman and the two referees from a few months ago, I hope other men can take inspiration from their stories and be comfortable and, if they wish, open about who they are. Sounds like he and his club have considered how to publish it with sensitivity and pride which is brilliant, and if it helps even one person then he’s a hero in my eyes.
  6. Turns out appointing a manager based on his name being the club’s name backwards doesn’t always work
  7. Cue the barrage of Twitter comments saying it’s not newsworthy, who cares etc. when it is, as you say, a pivotal moment.
  8. I’m sure it isn’t this simple, and I know it isn’t *the* answer, but how many solar/wind farms could we build with the £130 billion being given to energy firms
  9. I’m sure that this has been asked and answered at some point in the last 1,611 pages, but would a Scottish exit from the UK need a massive divorce bill equal to the UK’s debt pro rata? At this point I think it’s the only reservation I have, and with the debt figure about to get even bigger with Truss using our pockets to fund energy firms, rather than said firms’ profits, it would be a sore wan
  10. Whoever runs the Home Office account liked this tweet Regardless of political affiliation it’s clear to see that Truss has inherited more of a poisoned chalice of a job than “Gretna 2008 manager”, and her having to appoint her pals to the big gigs will only make it worse for her. Think Sturgeon will be rubbing her hands together ahead of next Autumn. ps Therese Coffey is 50 years old
  11. It was a pre season game against someone like Whitehill Welfare, no friendlies are listed on the website for whatever reason so I can’t recall for sure the who or the when. Just remember someone saying that it may become the norm in the South (EDIT: highly doubt it), where they moved from, due to a chronic shortage of referees which saw three youth games not played this weekend
  12. Both my pal and I swapped Dean Henderson in for Nick Pope this week, 12 points sitting festering on the bench man. Haaland has certainly not disappointed as my captain though
  13. Should have qualified this by saying she has recently been told she has autism, before she got her diagnosis I thought she was just a clatty b*****d but turns out she just needs loads of cues to do things
  14. Back at uni part time and only now finding out that I’m literally just above the threshold for a part time fee grant. Can’t wait to pull hundreds of pounds out of thin air during a cost of living crisis Two and a half modules away from a plain BA in Management though, which I didn’t think would happen when I dropped out six years ago to take a full time job!
  15. “Needs a podcast on to get to sleep” then dozes off thirty seconds into a really nippy 90 minute episode of Wine and Crime, but if I turn it down or pause it she wakes up and moans. Breaks the toilet with a Friday night Chinese toalie then either doesn’t flush because she says there’s no point if she’s going back for round two in a few minutes, or if she does flush leaves the lid and bathroom door open so I get a lungful across the house. Shouts “oh my god that’s terrible” at something on her phone then two seconds later tells me all about it in great detail even if I don’t bite and ask what it is. Wears my socks to bed and gets them all bobbly. (I promise I love her dearly and I am happy to be with her )
  16. Purely for the fact their main striker was playing in League Two last season! Their defence can be as leaky as they want, he’ll outscore any opposition on his own
  17. Strangely the Borders league seems to be as healthy as ever with three divisions, even declining new member clubs from Gretna and Berwick although I believe this was due in part to the additional travel that would be needed for teams and particularly their perilously small pool of refs
  18. And ever fewer people are doing it for whatever reason. A game involving Threave Rovers in the WoSFL even went ahead with only one lino earlier in the season, not by virtue of an early injury or anything like that, the SFA only put two officials on the game!
  19. An unusual fact is that I had chickenpox twice in as many years as a child A random one would be that I have a Bannatynes membership but don’t use the gym, only the pool. Problem is I can’t swim so I just sit in the sauna
  20. Looks like the Gretna manager resigned after today’s defeat to Cowdenbeath, obviously a poor start to the season leaving them in an early fight with Dalbeattie to avoid dropping into the South. Where do they go from here? They’ve had a rather high turnover of managers of late. And what on earth happened post-match with their sub supposedly fighting with spectators?!
  21. I wonder if Lochmaben will blame the referee this weekend when they go to Lochar again. Nothing to do with the keeper being lobbed from 30 yards, or the other nine goals they conceded, and definitely not the fault of their own coach’s attitude. Understand that the Williamson boy is a bombscare but it’s embarrassing the way they all went on on Facebook over the weekend
  22. Here’s a lady that has had a stinkin couple of days, we’re in Blackpool and Mabel has came with us only to be cooped up in the room with the fan on, only getting to see the light of day to go for a pee. Black Lab coming 2 in October, cries when not physically touching one of us. She also leans on sofas in a very “yer da” fashion
  23. She’ll be sufficiently famous when it transpires she’s been “Epsteined” by her ex-husband
  24. Went for a handful of big names and had to pad it out with nobodies. Only saving grace is that Hickey is a bargain
