  1. Nervous listen and being put forward as the worst performance of the season. Great three points.
  2. Good chracter from Ayr. Just taken a look at the table and still no clue....
  3. Ominous pre-match clouds at Bootle vs Trafford, in Northern Premier League West. The ground is about five minutes walk, as the crow flies, from Aintree station and racecourse. Nice tribute display to the late "Mr Bootle", Frank Doran Snr. The young team are one of the most vocal crowds going.
  4. Massively regretting bottling it and going for the steak-only pie, last week, after reading this.
  5. Nice to see the appreciation for Ricky Little. The lad can time a tackle and he is the type of defender I enjoy warching. I thought he would be massive and was surprised when I got to see him at Gayfield. Certainly a big presence on the pitch.
  6. Friday night games to stay. They have given me an incentive to want to visit the grounds I have seen. I would like to see some live League 1 and 2 games shown in that slot. I like this highlights package idea for the Championship, Leagues 1 and 2. No need for analysis (thinking cost here) because of the availability of podcasts. The pundit thing is a difficult one. It is a real mixed bag. I think some of Neil McCann's stuff on Sportscene is good and Michael Stewart and James McFadden do try to praise players during Championship games. Derek Ferguson seems to realise what a great job he has. Could Scottish journalism supply guests of the calibre of something like the 5Live Euro Leagues show? Also, would fans accept "media-only" pundits? Happy for AVFTT to keep doing its own (excellent) thing. I don't know the age demographic of Off The Ball listeners, but I think a more traditional show should remain. Open All Mics has loads of potential, if someone gets a grip.
  7. I will always have an appreciation for Aberdeen and Dundee United, based only on the glimpses we caught of their 1980s adventures. Individual opposition players tend to rile me more than other teams, in Scottish football.
  8. I still cannot understand how Scotland even ended up with VAR. If anyone in charge had listened to 5Live, it was constant angry callers saying it was last. I wish it would be binned from all football.
  9. Found myself down the Rangers end of the stand and leapt out of my seat at that fantastic Thistle strike. Wish I'd had some Jags next to me, as I felt I had better reign it in and it deserved a more fitting celebration. The team gave it their all. Enjoyable end to my Scottish sporting weekend. Brian Graham looks one stylish cat.
  10. Great away day, although I didn't feel comfortable until the final whistle. Not sure if Gaston saw the ball late for the goal. Loved the ground and chatting to a few locals about sea fishing and motorbikes. Haddock and chips, in a cafe down by the harbour, was delicious. If Arbroath do go, it sounds like Gayfield will be missed.
  11. First time I will have been past Perth, on that side of the country. Had some time off to take so scenic train journey up, ice hockey at Braehead tonight and the women's final on Sunday. The legendary wind seems to be set to arrive, right on cue.
  12. Fagan-Walcott looking like a Championship Calvin Bassey, at times. An enjoyable watch. Well played Pars.
  13. At least BBC Scotland gave me the chance to go full Bez, with the closing credits. Fair play to Raith for getting over the line.
  14. The lure of this game was too much to resist and I chose the tablet over checking out Clough Junior's Mansfield, at Tranmere Rovers. I hope I haven't jinxed the entertainment.
  15. No need for this VAR cack and debating decisions, if you stick the ball in the net. Stay onside and at least hit the target. Should have been a home win.
  16. Pleased to hear Danny Wilson is still doing well, back in Scotland. I can't definitely recall if I saw him at Anfield playing left-back, because there were some household names over a few seasons of that Europa League period. Forlan and Aguero together were something else. It was bad timing for the lad, with the club captain in his position.
  17. Very pleasing performance with so many players looking to.take responsibility, that they were sometimes getting in each others way.
  18. Bit concerned we are not further ahead., after everyone looking up for it. I expect Jim.Goodwin to be going ballistic.
  19. Belhaven Best on draught. My hotel has a deal with the local pub that got me 20% discount on my tea and bevvy. Televised madness on a Friday night. Scotland; some country.
