  1. Aye, I can just imagine your reaction if he'd signed Agnew & Trouten. You'd have been doing your nut!
  2. Temperatures forecast to be a lot higher at the end of the week.
  3. There's no doubt that there's been a weakness down the left as Dixon has been struggling however Ray's set up really wasn't giving him much in the way of protection. The squad's really not as unbalanced as you've been suggesting though. Dixon's obviously left footed and I think Tidser is too. It's also hard to tell what foot Gomiz, Telfer and Connolly use naturally as they seem to use either equally well (or badly). Longridge, whilst being right footed is also very comfortable on his left. The only left-sided player that we're really missing is a LWB. If Ray had kept Robson that would have allowed Dixon to play left-sided centre back and the team would have had a better balance and a more attacking threat down the left side.
  4. Think you've answered your own question there. Whatever the situation is, it's an interim appointment so, if it doesn't work out, they can let them go. If it does then they can consider them for permanent positions. In the meantime they'll be looking at alternatives (or should be). I would imagine that the deal will be until January, giving them some time to get results and giving the BOD some time to consider others (without jumping in and making a hasty decision on appointing some of the shitey names that have been mentioned). Apparently McCracken's position at Peterhead is still there if he wants to return and I would think that Lee's financial position is probably robust enough to allow him a month or two with no work therefore putting him in a position to take the chance that's on offer. His deal at Livi would surely have expired in May anyway? These two guys obviously think they can work together and have enough belief in their ability to think they can make a success of the opportunity. I'm confident that they will give it all that they've got anyway.
  5. He's not shite, in fact he's better with the ball at his feet than I thought he was. He was quite effective at the start of the season but he's certainly not been giving the job the required effort or focus that he should over the past few weeks that's for sure. We can only hope that the change of management has the desired effect.
  6. As far as I can see there's only Moore, Longridge, Toshney & Leitch out of contract in January. Miller signed a 6 month deal in August which would take him to February although I would imagine that will be wrong and will be until January too. I can't see anything about Johnstone for some reason but I have a feeling he got a deal to the end of the season? Personally I would want to keep Longridge and Toshney, if his fitness is ok and Miller too as we need back up. If the above is all correct then we'll only have Moore and Leitch available to bin so don't see a big turnover of players. I also suspect that the Vaulks money may have been used to pay off McKinnon & Taylor.
  7. Yep, and every afternoon when they get up again.
  8. Don't talk shite 25k for full hire I'm not talking shite mate, I'm telling you what the man said. Whether he's talking shite or not is another matter of course.
  9. Andy Thomson said last night that the Killers gig would gross the club £450k.
  10. I think they must have someone lined up (probably Coyle) because the norm would be leaving the assistant in place to take the team until the new guy comes in. There's nobody else available to do that unless they let Totten do it?
  11. That actually happened years ago when Bob Shaw picked the team.
  12. No wonder Dixon struggles if he only turns up on Mondays! Not sure about Doyle playing at LB for Morton & Alloa, always thought he played on the right. I think he's a decent player who at least has a desire to succeed however, his crossing IMO is his weakest attribute so don't think he'd be much good at doing it with his left if he struggles wit his right?
  13. Agree about the funding thing, he certainly didn't get the funds that the next two did. He had said however that he intended to leave at the end of the season so possibly the board didn't want him signing players that a new boss wouldn't want? Additionally, the majority of his signings were pretty poor, another reason perhaps why funds weren't provided?
  14. No way I'm letting any of those fuckers into my hoose.
  15. For all of you Falkirk fans that are going to this; remember that McKinnon will have to walk across the pitch at the end...
  16. Brilliant! Can we have a wee shot of him in January please? Has he been played as a wing-back incidentally as that's really the only position he can play?
  17. Hello. How has Tommy Robson been for you folks? Notice he wasn't in the squad on Saturday.
  18. I thought that Wright may have been a possible target for Hearts or Hibs. Although you've not started well this season he's obviously been successful in the past and has had Saints punching above they're weight for a few years now. A wee change of scenery may be what's needed for both him and the club?
