Quick Question Thread

Recommended Posts

I know nothing about cars. I'm very much an A to B person. I've been needing to upgrade upon my heap of a 2008 Corsa for a while. I've been looking to get a new car, but I don't have a completely unlimited budget either. Really like the look of this:

https://www.arnoldclark.com/new-cars/mg/zs/1-5-vti-tech-excite-5dr/0/ref/blk_iy4c5e33d70qwooe

Question is, are MG still a half decent name? Is this a good car? Is this a good deal?

Set me straight please lads.

My requirements if willing to offer an alternative are:

No more than £250 a month. Preferably new. Happy to pay a deposit. A 1.6 is ideal, but flexible. Other than that, I've absolutely no restrictions and I'm completely open.

There's a thread on here somewhere filled with glowing Arnold Clark testimonials, you can't go wrong.

I'd repost it on here.

There used to be a walnut within the base also.

Thank Christ someone else remembers that. I tried one recently after years without, and thought the Mandela Effect must have kicked in.

Walnut Whips without walnuts, FFS. I liked my old universe better.

Walnut Whip(s) and Turkish Delight are the worst confectionery every made

Awful opinion. Go away and have a think about what you've done. Then fetch me a proper Walnut Whip.

I only just realised this was what the DA stood for in his name a couple of weeks ago, I always assumed his real name was Donald Angus.

Hadn't clicked with me either. I'd just figured he wanted to see Mr. T replace Sam Waterston on Law & Order.

That's the kind of appalling deviancy we've come to expect, TBF.

FWIW I was in B n M yesterday and they are selling the old Walnut Whip's. Fill yer boots.

I never thought that the proper Walnut Whips had been discontinued; just that the new ones were an alternative. Maybe aimed at people with nut allergies.

If it doesn't have a walnut on its head and up its arse, I'm not interested.

Anyway, does anyone have a recommendation for clear tape (or similar) that'll stick to an unfinished wood surface? I need something for permanently holding signs onto the top of a rough wooden table. Needs to be clear so the text is visible underneath it. Helicopter tape looks perfect, but it's meant for smooth surfaces, so I'm dubious that the adhesive would be any use. Has to be hard-wearing as it'll be a work surface.

Best suggestion avoids a walnut up the arse. Thanks lads.

Wig blowing off in the wind?

That's something I've idly wondered; what do folk use to hold their syrup onto their baldy pate? The same stuff women use to tape skimpy outfits in place on their bodies?
