Our plan is to leave late Friday afternoon, stop off and stay somewhere and then get down to Folkestone for about lunchtime on the Saturday to get the train. I've not done a drive like this before and wanted to get an idea of where might be a good place to stop off on the way down. Google maps gives me three different options for getting down: M6, M1 or A1. It claims A1 is the quickest and shortest route. Does anyone have any suggestions for where to head to first? Ideally I only want a 2 or 3 hour drive to Folkestone on the Saturday morning. Cambridge

Easy access to motorway and gives you a couple of hours to folkstone on the second day.

Terrific breakfast spread overlooking the golf course, ponds, fountain etc, swimming pool for the kids and nice grounds to wander about.

I don’t think it’s that dear as they have a cheaper wing where they punt all the families, dogs etc.

I do however think timing on the day will be a big part of your success (or otherwise). Good luck and God speed.
pandarilla
What is the best online betting company for covering Scottish football?William hill (who I've been with for years) have pissed me off. On Saturday they only had 'in play' on two of the league cup matches (from a full card). I mentioned it on the contact us bit and they said that was all they had available - it wasn't just a mishap. Their live scores are also a bit slow compared to other sites so I'm finally moving.

101
Anyone know where I could get 6 pine poles that would be suitable to turn into an A frame for a kids event I help run. (Not for profit) ETA - or scaffolding poles but would prefer wooden ones. Edited July 16, 2019 by Adam101
Hedgecutter
Cut down a single fir/pine tree and you'll get 6 posts from one of them, easy. I get mine from the end of @Melanius Mullarkey 's back garden these days. They're not actually his trees to chop down of course (right behind the fence), but you couldn't ask for better secluded access.

Would prefer someone in the building trade as they might have some contacts as I don't have a chainsaw.
