Quick Question Thread

Recommended Posts

Anyone know the best way to actually talk to someone about student bursaries? I've tried phoning SAAS and even the Student Loans Companies and nobody answers the phone, ever.

Basically I've had my student loan letter which is the same as the last three years, but I've heard nowt about a bursary (again, I've had one the last three years). It's a total pain in the sack tbh, I think the mantra is they give us money so customer service can GTF.

Right one for the fashionista's on here. I have a black t shirt and light grey jeans, I am going to be buying a new pair of boots and I am not sure what couler would be best. The choice is brown (which I like more) and black which would obviously suit better. My question is would the brown boots go?

I want a shot on a double decker train. Where's the nearest place I can do this?

Netherlands have them. Train from the airport into Amsterdam is a double decker

Pretty certain TGV has some as well. Sure I took one from CDG to Disneyland Paris a few years ago.

edit: Just looked it up. SNCF's TGV lines do indeed run "bi-level carriages":

What tinternet security do folk use? My Norton runs out tomorrow and I dunno if I should just buy a new one at like £30 or if there's a free/ better one I should use. This should probably be in the IT department of pnb but like most IT departments not a lot of people visit it.

You should never use Norton. Have a look in the e-chat forum. There's a thread pinned at the top detailing some good free stuff you can download.

I highly recommend Avast. It gets really good reviews, and the free version is good enough for anti virus and warning you of any dodgy websites. It also easy to update, and you just need to register for a free license once a year. I wouldn't waste your money on Norton.

Isn't the blue bin for paper?!

Just chuck them in a clothes recycling bin.

Do you know any around Aberdeen? All the ones I see are more clothes donations bins and my tatty clothes and shoe waste isn't much use to anyone unless they live in Sudan or East Ayrshire.

Does anyone have any recommendation for bars in Glasgow where a) they're open past 12, and b) you can reserve a reasonable size area for say 12-15 folk? The only places I can think of off the top of my head are Bloc and Bunker and it's years since I've been to either.

Although club 30/ tropicana / etc. might do the job.
