It's genuinely like Murray has taken the players he had in mind as signing targets for Airdrie and signed them for us instead.

I think the idea is to bypass him and go direct but that isn't going to work with our available "forwards" I would revert to a 4-2-3-1 for next week, get Spencer and Stanton playing in that 2, get Brown in at right back and Millen into the North Sea. No one is suggesting he dictate play but when you're Infront of two defenders with the ball you provide an outlet for them, even if it's to give a quick ball off to one of the fullbacks or draw a man away. That's not dictating, it's being available. I agree with your suggestion on the rest, though I'd also consider dropping Connolly in favour of Arnott to play in the centre and play Easton on the side with the better defensive fullback so he can roam.

Wouldn’t be dropping Connelly , one of our better players

No denying his set pieces are excellent though, a lot of our better chances come from them but in open play, he's been a bit hit and miss.
SirJimmyofNic
Watched the highlights, and it looked like headless chickens all over the park, we've a bloody good goalkeeper with nothing in front of him, (noticed he took a hefty knock again) Incredulous that Millen is on a 2year deal, I doubt even McGlynn would've signed him,
pub car king
Jamie MacDonald must be due some sort of heads gone breakdown in a match at some point soon.
Chubbychops
God knows how Ross Millen is still managing to pull off 2 year full-time contracts. Terrible player.

basher brash
Whats baffling is we now have a well advertised scout/ talent spotter in place and the best he comes up with is Connell and McBride , Heard lee bullen comment on a post match interview that his scouts monitor lower league down south that’s how they spotted Akinyemi where’s our scout looking ?
pub car king
I think our scout does opposition games for match prep and not actually potential signings

Bullen will have a network of contacts down south from his Sheffield Wednesday days. they’ll get chucked a few bob as a finders fee
D'Jaffo
Bullen will have a network of contacts down south from his Sheffield Wednesday days. they’ll get chucked a few bob as a finders fee It’s less down to Bullen and more down to Keith Glendinning, our head of recruitment. He’s the one that goes and finds all these guys. We were definitely being lazy before with agents and that’s how we got the likes of Adeloye, O’Connor, Albinson etc but with a proper structure in place we don’t need to use them as much and can find guys for ourselves.

Murray’s had a tough job really, coming into a (clearly) reduced budget situation and a squad that was low on confidence due to the last guy pissing away a small fortune on a rapist (amongst others) and then taking us on a run that would have seen anybody else sacked long before the end of last season. It’s pretty clear now though that we’re not going to be mounting a title challenge, but I don’t think that was realistically the aim and at any rate Murray’s budget isn’t going to really allow that. I’m still reassured that, unlike large parts of last season, we are at least creating plenty of chances we're just missing that somebody to stick them in the onion bag. There’s still a player to come in and from Murray’s post match interview he seems to be talking about a specific individual and I have a feeling he might be fairly exciting. I missed the game yesterday, so probably not reeling from that result/performance as much as others on here. The Hamilton game gave me the impression we’d stated to click but clearly there’s still some way to go yet with this side. Murray’s habit of just chucking attacking players on in the latter stages of games concerns me slightly though, it seems a bit naïve. Mind you we’ve just turned 180 from a manger who was famously reluctant to initiate a plan B… This season might be a bit of a slow burn and develop into a McKinnon style slow start-strong finish, hopefully in the play off spots. I think equaling last season’s finish would be a fair achievement in all honesty, given what the club has been through.
