The New Raith Rovers Thread

In a week that was applauded at signing Turner and celebrating Shaun Byrne day yesterday   We were totally over run in central midfield    We have no dig or legs in there      Byrne is too one paced and is left isolated   He definitely needs Brown in there  O’reilly should have been priority over Turner for me    Turner is nice on the ball but totally over run by s team sitting near the bottom of the league

Really liked the look of Turner but apart from the the poor team performance what annoyed me was why was Turner played deeper in the second half, when he was more effective further forward? Don't know if it is just me but Hamilton looks like he lacks confidence, take the shot and header he just poorly kicked and headed straight at the keeper?

Turner had to keep dropping as Byrne is totally exposed having one Cdm

Agree with you about that and I feel that is down to the gaffer and his stupid throw on attacking players and play a sort of 2-2-6 formation towards the end of today's game.

Was Ross Millen just suspended fir 1 league game? I don't massively care if he's out of the cup game next week.

Not sure, I believe so but depends on what is in the ref's report.

I'll give it a whirl. Next week should be used to play "fringe players" so they get some game time. There's little point having all these great options in the squad if all they're going to get is 10 minutes here and there. Equally some of the regular starters would benefit from spectating.

Didn't see a lot of complaints about it when we were scoring late winners with 6 attackers on. Can't win them all, today was not about the number of attacker's it was about the quality of our play, or lack of it. Slow build up, slow transition when we lost the ball and poor in front of goal. Aside from the brilliance of Ferries and the woodwork, our shots on target were pretty poor overall. That and conceding poor goals were what cost us.

17 mins in for the first Easton roll around the ground today I timed it as.

very frustrating considering the start we had. Thought Corr looked fine today and was a makeshift back 5 with a new boy in midfield. Hopefully the injured players can get back soon and we can play with a bit more confidence again.

Has to be said Queens Park were poor aswell and we handed that to them.

We've done nothing since he got given the new deal. Could be an expensive mistake.

Did you expect to canter to the league with no blip in performance levels?
