He is a player of limited ability, that if we went to progress we should be replacing with better. Wasn't good enough this season, or last or the one previous to that. With Barr there it's a loss we could probably live with thoughWouldn't this leave us with only two central defenders? Possibly Thomson could cover, and a midfielder could cover for him, but we probably need more strength in depth than this. What's weird is he was given a budget for next year, had signing targets - presumably worked out in advance with Malpas and had started working on re-signing players for next year.
