renton
ImageUploadedByPie & Bovril1435150590.898077.jpg I imagine we are pretty much there in terms of signings. Maybe one more dependent on who we have on trial and who impresses (assuming we have folk on trial, but that was the chat a while back). May also depend on how ready one or two of the young guys like Mathews are ready to properly break in, or whether we need a bit more cover for those positions.

Last weeks Ffp had Mackinnon stating that after the wighton loans been confirmed, he's still looking to strengthen the midfield and forward positions. So I reckon we'll bring in 2 more but it may not be til after a friendly or 2 to get a wee look at the trialists in a match. And then after that, maybe a second loan as cover for on the wing. I still wouldn't write Cardle off on a return. We might not even bring in a second loan, but I reckon we'll have 2 more signings at least( a Midfielder and a striker). I wonder what's going on with the midfielder that was due to sign on his return from England?
Beachbum
I'd agree with that. We have 16 signed players if you include Matthews but exclude the youngsters and that's not enough when you factor in injuries and suspensions. Two or three to come.

Surprised one of the other championship clubs haven't signed him already.

He's currently in Dubai and has either been in England or Dubai for the past 3-4 weeks
Dazzle
I'm my maths is correct we lost 9 players from last season and have only brought in 6? Which would suggest to me we are still 3 players short of a squad, I would imagine we will bring in another loan as well. You would also have to think (although I have no idea what our players get paid) that we have reduced the wage budget significantly with who we have brought in as well. Guys like Conroy, Nade and Scott are surely on more than McCord, Megginson and Wighton.

Raithie
Yeah, but we might have cut the budget for this year. This. For all we know sacking Murray might have had an impact on our budget as well.
Zen Archer (Raconteur)
I heard a wee whisper that we may be in for Gary Oliver from Hearts, I expect it may be a loan deal.

Is he not off to Queens on a loan deal? I heard that may have been part of the deal for Reilly off to Hearts. I could be wrong though.
Broken Algorithms
New signing tomorrow apparently according to capital city press on Twitter. I'd imagine that the budget has been cut given we're losing Hearts but it won't be as bad as had we lost either Rangers or Hibs in place of Motherwell. I'd imagine we'll be due both Murray and Brechin money for our change in management.

Whistle Blower
Yeah, but we might have cut the budget for this year. We've lost the income from 2 home games v Hearts, so I would hope we have cut our budget
Paco
At this moment in time, these are our options for every position, ranked in a rough order of how I think we may line up to begin with: Goalkeepers David McGurn (34) Kevin Cuthbert (32) Right Back Jason Thomson (27) Lewis Toshney (23) Left Back Rory McKeown (22) Darren Petrie (19) Centre Back Craig Barr (28) Kyle Benedictus (23) Lewis Toshney (23) David Bates (18) Centre Midfield Ryan McCord (26) Ross Callachan (21) Darren Petrie (19) Ross Matthews (19) Right Wing Grant Anderson (28) Mitch Megginson (22) Left Wing Mitch Megginson (22) Grant Anderson (28) Strikers Mark Stewart (27) Craig Wighton (17) Lewis Vaughan (19) Decided to add ages in to show we're not quite as low as some seem to think, a typical starting line-up to begin with will probably involve McGurn, Thomson, Anderson, Barr, McCord and Stewart, who have all played over 100 games at this level or above. Benedictus also falls into that category despite his age, and Megginson isn't far off. Where we desperately need to strengthen is in the wide areas, we saw in Cardle's full season when he and Anderson were the only two wingers at the club how stale things could get with no competition. Both had some pretty brutal games, Cardle especially was torture at times during the infamous "3 in 20" run but Murray played both every week regardless as he had no other option. A winger and a striker with some form of physical presence are musts. That apart are we really missing much, if anything?
