KFC tonight. First one for a very long time. It will be an even longer time before the next one!

Last time I had KFC it was like they overloaded the fryer. Temperature went down & the stuff ended up stewing.

Soggy saturated shite.

Went for a picnic with a couple pals yesterday and got far too excited about making food for other people for the first time in ages.  Sausage rolls with fennel and homemade caramelized onion, with some cream cheese ruff puff pastry recipe that my gf found, and a berry pavlova which we polished off last night as well.

Neither particularly hard things to do but both had potential to go wrong so was very satisfying for them to come off

KFC is so hit and miss,  had it a few times recently where the chicken fillet is like rubber , undercooked.

Didnt manage any pictures of the steak but had king prawns baked in chipotle and garlic butter with tiger bread to start, then sous vide the tomohawk to medium rare, Korean hollandaise sauce, chips* and asparagus to go with.

*triple cooked them them for a wee treat, burnt on the second deep fry [emoji19]

Please tell me you seared the meat? One of my absolute top hates is sous vide meat without any colour on it.

Well..... This time a bit of a cheat really. Just hollandaise with chilli bean sauce for the heat. But I will definitely be seeking out the proper Korean gear for next time.

Homemade cheese bread, bacon, fried eggs, asparagus and homemade hollandaise for brunch this morning. Delightful way to kick off a Saturday
