welshbairn
I totally agree. We only have a 2 month wet season with high humidity but 6 months+ of 30+ degrees here and it does get tiresome. What I don't miss about Scotland is the grey sky, driving wind and rain as well as the low temperatures in the summer.......probably because I worked outside in it from 7.30am-6pm 5-6days a week! What's the weather like in October in Hokkaido, Sapporo specifically? Booked flights to Tokyo but haven't decided where to go yet.

Lots of active volcanos there as well as wild bears! I've yet to visit there but the winter festival is something I'd like to see. Winters tend to be dry in Japan even though the mountainous areas and Hokkaido get a lot of snow.

I thought October was supposed to be mild.

You can get a direct flight from Tokyo to Ishigaki (beautiful island with coral reefs). Flight is about 2-3hours from Tokyo.

Of course not, I've just been demoted to the seaside league, where you live.
SlipperyP
Of course not, I've just been demoted to the seaside league, where you live. I live around 5 hours from the closest sea. You'll be visiting Jungle territory for this fixture. Good luck next week, ya c**t!!!
++Ammo - Airdrie++
Maybe I am getting old but the thought of flying puts me off traveling. Security, jetlag, other wanky travelers, sitting for 8+ hours, cases, fighting with the burd... it's more trouble than it's worth. Unless it's something spectacular or something I really wanted to see I wouldn't bother. Granted I don't need to live with 10 months of Scottish weather. Im like this with driving, ive got a specialist appointment in Hairmyres at the end of april for my knee, and i am genuinely thinking of taking the bus, i absolutely hate driving outwith airdrie and Coatbridge now.

Granny Danger
Do people really enjoy the Scottish weather/climate or do they just pretend to because there’s nothing they can do about it?

Parts of Scotland on a clear day are far more beautiful than where I live in Japan (barring perhaps when the cherry blossom is out), the point I was making is that those clear days are few and far between. The last summer I spent in Scotland was so windy and cold that I thought I was living in a wind tunnel!

MONKMAN
Scotland’s weather is shit. The cold doesn’t bother me but it rains more days than not, for about 9 months of the year.
