No fuses tripped and the neighbours power stayed on throughout. The, Scott's shelf that is covered in lego and has been up for about 2 years collapsed 10 minutes ago. Imagine the sound of a ton of coal being dumped onto a conservatory roof and you get the idea. Must be ghosts. Poor laddie getting lumps of coal for Christmas and getting told their lego bricks.

To balance the load of the 3 phase cables (3 core cable) suppling buildings that require only one phase, every third building will receive the same phase. If a fault occurs at the local transformer on a phase, not all buildings will be affected with an outage.

Think they said that a tin of WD-40 was expected to last about 25-30 years, so 3 was more than enough. The can might be rusty but you can replace the spraying bit with one from an old can of Sure deodorant. Top tips.

Hedgecutter
I found a pair of fleece-lined trousers at home the other day, which I'd bought perhaps a few years back, hadn't taken the tags off, and had completely forgotten about. Started wearing them yesterday for a laugh, and it's a total game changer around the house. Warm and cosy (even outdoors in 9C) with no need for the heating on. Wish I'd started this years ago.

Granny Danger
Our electricity has been off from 8.30 this morning. By a massive stroke of misfortune we did our big monthly shop Tuesday and yesterday and there’s loads of stuff in the freezer. Mrs Granny is freaking out a bit. “What can we do?” she is asking. The response of “Hope that it comes back on soon.” is not going down a bundle.

Common enough occurrence where I am - pile in a pack of ice cubes and buy a cooler block for future occurrences.
