He won't last long with that. That's a cracking photo! There could be a few DNSs tomorrow. In the same incident a woman pulled a child out the road & both ended up in the ditch to avoid the carnage, https://twitter.com/nyvelocity/status/1408807834934992896?s=20 Edited June 27, 2021 by kiddy

Froome looked dreadful when he finished.Froome tweeted that he was going for scans and would update later, the fact he hasn't tweeted anything else since makes me think he is gubbed.
peasy23
Froome finally did provide an update, which doesn't sound promising.
buddie06smfc
Froome & Hirschi both start today, only Soler DNS from those who finished yesterday. Impressive given the magnitude of both crashes yesterday. Hirschi has been off the back of the peloton already, I’d be surprised if he makes it much further in the tour.

kiddy
Froome out the back with 4 climbs to go.Can only think yesterday's crash covers up his form the last year or two. I fully expect him to try get round to Paris & retire on the Champs-Élysées.
kiddy
MVP takes the stage, Pogacar & Roglic take bonus seconds, but Thomas ships about 15 being gapped at the line.MVP takes yellow, having taken bonus seconds on the 1st ascent of the Mur de Bretagne. Achieving something his Grandfather, Raymond Poulidor, never did; pulling on the yellow jersey, having finished in the top 3 on GC 5 times.
Merkie84
This is already shaping up to be a great tour. Pagacar and Roglic going wheel to wheel trying to a gain every advantage over each other from the word go MVP looks an exciting rider and could mix things up. Allaphilipe with his usual brand of brilliant madness. Geraint Thomas lurking ominously in the background. Bring it on!
well fan for life
That last 20km was absolute carnage again. Crashes all over the shop.
btb
Crashtastic day again - always interesting to compare the injuries pro-cyclists are prepared to ride with against the those that cause their fitba compadres to roll about. You don't have to be mad to ride Le Tour but.... Edited June 28, 2021 by btb
stanton
This is absolute carnage and it's only stage 3
well fan for life
Still not sure how Caleb Ewen came about crashing. Touch of wheels? Or was it just moving across Sagan? Looked absolutely grim whatever it was.

Looked absolutely grim whatever it was.Crossed wheels with Mellier.I know carnage has been overly used in these last few posts, but that was, carnage! That the GC was completely thrown up in the air was tremendous for watching fans. With Carapaz now looking like Ineos team leader! Alaphilipe must surely see his GC options opening up too.Should Roglic withdraw (suspect broken coccyx) would WVA be given JV backing for GC?Interesting to see Thomas come in with Pogacar's group, considering they put his dislocated shoulder back in place after his crash.Fantastic.
Shuggie_Murray7
I’d be surprised to Roglic starts tomorrow from the sounds of his injuries. If he withdraws surely Van Aert will be given the nod to go stage hunting. If ever Alaphilippe had a real opportunity to have a crack it’s this year but it’s really hard to see past Pogacar already. Carapaz did look in decent form at Tour de Suisse a few weeks back so it’ll be interesting to see how he goes. Enric Mas looks handily placed too. buddie06smfc
Talk of a protest today by the riders in the way of a neutralised first 50km of the race. Would appear Jumbo–Visma are continuing on with only Gesink as their sole rider to drop out. There’s a handful of riders at 52” currently including Gaudu, Uran, Lutsenko all well placed for later in the race.
