Froome winning doesn't help cycling in the slightest. At worst he should be suspended, at best they shouldn't have him in the team in case the fucker wins.

He holds the three grand tours but he's been done for an offence that would get anyone else a  ban for a year plus. Do they take the Giro off him when they quite rightly remove the Vuelta? Sky shouldn't have had him in the team to avoid the eventuality.

He's not 'been done' for anything. Yet.

Clearly we don't know ALL the facts, although hopefully we will soon. On the face of it the UCI is at fault for the delay in a final decision being taken.

They really MUST sort it before the TdeF.

Indeed. I actually think - rightly or wrongly - Froome will win his case. There will be some metabolism issue or something and they'll be able to prove it could have been naturally produced or some sort. The only way Sky and Froome can recover from this is to sign up to the clean sport pledge that some other teams have and to say that they aren't going to seek TUEs in the future. If that means a rider has to abandon because their asthma is hindering them too much or they have saddle sores that are causing too much pain then so be it.

It's farcical that it's taken so long to sort out, but then again, that's the sort of incompetence we've come to expect from the UCI.

Have to agree, if a substance is banned, then it's banned. There's absolutely no doubt teams will have exploited the TUE guidelines over the years.

You'll probably find every team are pushing the limits to the max & are teetering on the edge of +ve tests.
Will be the same in EVERY sport.

Dauphine started today. Kwiatowski took the opening prologue but Geraint Thomas finished top 10, having crashed en route, coming in within 20 secs of his teammate.
He's 21 seconds down and in 43rd place but yes, definitely still in contention

Chris Froome: UCI drops case against four-time Tour de France winner - http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/cycling/44679483

There will be a meltdown at ASO who wanted to kick Froome off the TdF.

Bernard Hinault, who said that the peloton should strike if Froome was allowed to participate,  will be raging.

I'm expecting the French fans to abuse Froome and it could turn very ugly.

Pleased he's been cleared, but it leaves a lot of questions unanswered. Hopefully we'll get those answers rather than half-truths and rumours. Not holding my breath though.
You'll need an inhaler if you hold it too long.[emoji6]
