Pogi wins Strade Bianchi with an insane attack 80kms from Siena & comes in 2.45 ahead of 2/3rd, peloton at 4.30+.
Exactly where he said he’d attack. A strong field, yet nobody could follow, Sepp, Pidcock & La Porte included. Think only MVDP or WVA would be able to live with him on that form.

La Grandissima today, into the last 30kms of Milan-San Remo & approaching the Cipressa. Talk of Pogacar launching an attack there to challenge MvDP & take the race to last years winner.

All comes down to a mad sprint, Pidcock jumped on to a break & was leading with about 200 to go, but ends up with Philipsen beating Michael Mathews on the line, Pogi 3rd.

The pace was unreal all day

I thought Pogi should have gone on the Cipressa. UAE got caught out of position at the bottom & once Del Toro was spent he should have gone for it. His power output & ITT ability, allied to his Strade Bianchi form, would have put him in with a better chance of the win than getting involved in trying to outgun the current form sprinter. It may also have caught MvDP out on his season debut on the road. As it was the WC ended up working for his team mate & Alpacin took the win.

Awesome display from Van der Poel in hellish conditions . Next Sunday should be another cracking day

Felt sorry for the Spaniard that came to a complete halt, when his wheel spun out on that wet climb. Don’t think it would have affected the outcome, but would have made the race a lot more interesting.

Those cobbles are brutal, bad enough in the dry , but in those conditions they were almost impossible, Mathieu was some what fortunate he got away in front ahead of the chaos that was caused by the slip

Roglic took a dull yin today, in the Basque Tour. Looked dazed & confused but his team stuck him back on his bike. Cycling certainly hasn’t wised up to concussion protocols. His race should have been over IMO.

Really nasty crash today in the Basque Tour. Several riders look badly hurt including Roglic, Remco and Vingegaard - who all appear to be out of the race.

The former two at least walking to ambulances, but Jonas still lying in the recovery position. Hope none of them are too badly hurt.

They came round a corner and into a concrete (!) drainage ditch at the side of the road. Several rocks near it too.

Race currently neutralized as all medical cover used up. Brian Smith couldn't talk at one point as he was so upset by the pictures. ☹

Roubaix Day, Sunday. I see they’ve put a “chicane” in at the entrance to the Arenberg Trench, to reduce the speed.😲😖 It’s more like a Feckin hairpin!🤨🤷‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️

Update on Vingegaard, broke collar bone, several ribs & a collapsed lung, in the crash the other day. Remco broke his collar bone &  shoulder blade whilst Vine fractured 3 vertebrae.

I also see Landa got carted off to hospital on a stretcher yesterday.

MVDP romping Paris-Roubaix, nearly 3 minutes in front with 18k to go.

Might have been different if this guy's attempt to sabotage him had worked.

That clip needs to be extensively shared so that the individual involved can be identified and dealt with
