mart1
HMRC will receive a substantial payment from BDO, pretty straightforward really. Why is it pretty straightforward?

Were Rangers not in administration HMRC would have been able to get a winding up order against Rangers for the unpaid tax bill. I think many are barking right up the wrong tree here, the SPL commission wasn't about Rangers avoiding PAYE. It was the improper use of side letters aKa dual contracts that weren't declared by Rangers in any way shape or form, in fact Rangers went out of their way to hide these dual contracts which at the time were illegal in association football. The HMRC have struck a blow to the associations warped view that Rangers FC have been properly dealt with because they WEREN'T caught in the act of actively cheating by doping their squad with players they would never have been able to afford without the use of the side letters, eff all to do with the EBT scheme as the players have now been found out to have been improperly registered at the time they won these competitions. Writing into their rule books a year before Rangers FC PLC went tits up that no retrospective punitive measures could not be meted out to Rangers was them showing that they already knew the club was cheating, but shat a huge brick at stripping the cheating b*****ds because they might have feared for their lives if they did so. This has f**k all to do with unpaid bills, it is about Rangers FC PLC actively cheating by breaking the association rules to win trophies at the expense of other clubs.
The_Kincardine
I see the Celtic board is as dim as its fans: http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/40510207 "In 2013, we expressed surprise - shared by many observers and supporters of the game - over the findings of the SPL commission that no competitive or sporting advantage had resulted. Today's decision only reaffirms that view. "We are sure now that the footballing authorities in Scotland will wish to review this matter. Celtic awaits the outcome of their review." Whenever has it been wrong for a football club to gain 'competitive advantage'? Isn't the whole point of a team by choice of players and staff to actually try and gain a sporting advantage? The bit the grey and green thickets are missing is 'unfair' and that was adequately dealt with by LNS as affirmed by the recent excellent statement from the SFA. How long will we endure a 'strip the titles' campaign from the moon-howlers? Adverts is Swiss newspapers incoming.

mart1
Keep the titles, strip the titles. . . It doesn't really matter. The proof is now out there. . . Rangers cheated the full of Scottish football during those years. And now it's pretty funny to see the imbeciles that "lead" the new club cheat the current fans.

Nothing has happened today that wasn't factored in to the fair and balanced LNS enquiry that pretty-much everyone thought was an excellent idea at the time. That enquiry found us guilty and exacted an appropriate punishment. What are folk expecting? That we should be found guiltier? Guilty of what exactly? If a club has been found to have cheated it's opposition for over a decade you think that the SFA passing on a £250K fine to something that according to them isn't the club in question is the appropriate punishment because the SFA wrote it into their rules a year before Rangers went tits up? Your having a laugh aren't you? Small clubs have been punished more for far less breaching of association rules after the game in question has been played. So why should your old club be given grace of being found out after the fact when the small clubs get fucked over for minor infractions after the fact themselves?
