jagfox
I'm assuming that the SPL cannot exclude the rAngers from Scottish football, just their own league. This would suggest their friends at Hampden would help them out again by letting them into sfl league 3 to the detriment of clubs waiting for election. Rangers, running rough-shod over Scottish football for 140 years
WeeHectorPar
Talking to a very good (tax) insider, Rangers WILL lose the big tax case, but the verdict may not be imminent. Setting that aside (!) they will not get a CVA through, no chance. HMRC and Ticketus will vote against it. Forget all you're reading, this will happen. So they will be liquidated and sold off. That's not all, they will be an embarrassment to the SPL once the big tax verdict reveals what they've been up to, breaking rules and regulations all over the place. All this prevaricating is only delaying the inevitable; think the administrators know that deep down. There is no way out for them, and the SFA/SPL have a lot of big decisions to make. Seems to me, hiding them away in Div 3 would be the best option. The newco could of course buy out another club, maybe Cowdenbeath, and get back to the top flight quicker, but that would be an even bigger stain on their 'history'; the newco wouldn't have one of course. This story is only going to get bigger, and will go down as one of the most significant landmarks in Scottish World football history. And yes, I'm loving it seeing one of the Old Firm cut down to size. The Old Firm, fuelled by bigotry, have used Scottish football as their plaything for far too long. All that Dambusters stuff and Irish music, give me a break! The rest of us are sick to the back teeth of it all, and forever being told we need them. We don't. Forget the TV money in the short term, painful though that might be. Rangers going bust will be one of the best things ever to happen to the Scottish game. Sorted. How could you be so parochial at a time like this? Edit: The bears are always telling us how they are one of the biggest teams in the world. This will cause the end of international football. weirdcal
New arsehole for joe m. Fairly made me chuckle seeing his arguement (if that's what you call it) ripped part so easily. Now his point about Dunfermline is almost accurate. But I wouldn't have said the rangers fans bailed them out. They more or less proved that it's better to sell your own tickets than let rangers do it for you. Now cough up (£39k + interest)

WeeHectorPar
Care to expand on this? I thought it was 'imminent' for weeks? Just how long can this go on for! There are degrees of imminency. This one just isn't quite so imminent as others.

Chazza1910
Care to expand on this? I thought it was 'imminent' for weeks? Just how long can this go on for! Just what the guy told me. He works for HMRC and said they were in no hurry. They know they're going to win the case, fat lot of good it will do them anyway as they'll be lucky to get £5m of the £100m they are due. They must have uncovered lot more than they expected, and are still sorting it all out.

What's his thoughts on the HMRC approach to a CVA?

Not substantial enough, just a guy who works for HMRC. Why would he say anything and jeopardise his career.
)typically
Anyone know why a jobbing builder from Thornlibank has registered a company on the 7th of March this year as 'Glasgow Rangers Football Club 2012 Limited'. Is he speculating to accumulate? Or is this a bad omen? I guess he thinks they will have to buy the name from him in in the event of a Newco. If that is the case then he may find they just use a slightly different name.
welshbairn
Why Rangers are still fcuked: Reason number 347.. Might be malicious propaganda from the Blue Nights Porno Club, but there is gossip that Bill Miller's bid is doomed, as the transfer ban will prevent players' registrations being transferred to the "incubated newco" while the old club sorts out all the shyte and a CVA... Two companies were closed down last week, "Celtic Football Club Limited" and "Glasgow Celtic FC Limited", both of which were registered to a three bedroom semi in Coatbridge. Chancers.
