Big Rangers Administration/Liquidation Thread - All chat here!

Recommended Posts

Standard Scottish football "journalist" approach too - if in doubt, shout loudly and call the other guy and idiot.

In terms of rules, etc, I am considering writing to the SPL for clarification on which of their rules apply to which of the teams - that should make everything much easier for us.

In which case you will require a daily update as to which rules apply on that particular day, to which clubs, what majority is required regarding the subject topic, who is entitled to vote and will the rules be changing before tomorrow.

Good luck.

Very disappointing chat from Mixu there, but thankfully Kenny refused to be drawn. I think I can guess what he thinks, just a pity he seems to hold no sway over Johnston. Disappointing to tune into such a big match with such two excellent studio guests to find them chatting rangers right enough.

99% sure it will be:

"The following rules apply: Rangers and Celtic - none. Everyone else - all (including the ones we haven't thought of yet)."

if this isn't a specialised matter then what the fcuk is?

FFS how much more 'specialised' can you get than 'saving' rapeepul? if things like restructuring and tv money sharing require 11-1 or 10-2 then letting the bigots back in should also require this.

Well it's the clubs looking at a rule change, and the clubs voting on it. If you believe in democracy, you presumably believe in the right of the electorate to decide for themselves whether they vote for it or not.

But there's a fairly substantial degree of poster hypocrisy in this, isn't there, if 8-4 is the proposed GM threshold ?

People are always completely outraged about the unfairness of 11-1 or similar voting systems, the "OF veto", etc. ...

... then when a democratic 8-4 is on the table, but it might mean something they don't like happening - suddenly it not being 11-1 or similar is outrageous !!

I was kind of thinking that myself.

Speaking for myself, all the votes should be 8-4. I am not 'outraged' by democracy. I am outraged by cheating, manipulation and sending sporting integrity down the Clyde in a banana boat.

Scottish Football is at something of a crossroads just now – the SPL seem unable to act for the greater good of the game generally, with an inability to even decide how many teams they want in the top division – far less as to getting their minds round what the supporters want in terms of competition and variety.

Nice wee dig by our board on the offishul site.....

Question that relates to the older generation on here as I can't answer this.....

Before football went commercial, did you consider the team you followed to be 'your' team, because you del the money you paid, paid for the entertainment you got? And when did you think you noticed that change? And who was responsible for it? Like to hear your views on that. Cheers!cool.gif

To be honest we have never really been listened to. But football was not televised 24/7 so i like thousands others went , week in week out. We had to put up with terrible conditions. Catering was basic, and you took your live in your hands going to the toilet. Some didn't even bother.

So do not think that there was a "golden age", maybe the game was more honest and the guys who played it.

The clubs relied heavily on the support There was not a great deal of sponsorship and the TV cash would be minimal. So i like the improvements in the grounds and the fact that the games are on the box, but that has come at a heavy price.

I gave up my season after Vlad started to interfere so i do not go as much as i used to but i am still Hearts through and through. Maybe the fact that 1 person can own a club like a toy now is the worst thing that has happened to the game/sport here in my time watching football, and i was taken to my first game in the 60,s I can safely say that i have never felt so disappointed withe game or so detached from it.

Jim Duffy was one o my fav ton playes but I think he must have headed to many heavy leather baws.

A guy was saying that people will be holding of on season books till this is decided, the guy was meaning in light of sporting intergity and people turning their backs on the game.

Jim then fires in with the classic, yeah people will be holding of to make sure their team has 2x old firm visits to take the family along to to savour the atmosphere......really Jim.

Radio Clyde entertaining the touched for donkeys years.

Crowds wil flock back to football if they believe their team might win something.

The highest attendances at NDP were against Aberdeen and Dundee - games both sets of fans attended in numbers because of the chance of seeing a victory.

Old Firm games at NDP were less well attended, mainly due to Accies fans seeing the outcome as, more or less, a forgone conclusion.

The idea that other team's fans somehow want to see the Old Firm is rubbish - fans want to see competitive football.

Would be great to have an OF-free league with a 14 or 16 team top division.

Rangers will start next season in administration and have a 10 point penalty.

Stooopid question, but I'm sure somebody said Motherwell have only recently exited administration????? Why didn't they start with -10????

When will the appeal against the SFA sanctions be heard?

Is it possible that the SPL are waiting for these to be upheld so that they can shirk voting on newco punishment.

If Rangers are hit with a signing embargo etc then the SPL can say "Well they have been punished" and we can turn a blind eye and keep living off their rancid scraps.

The whole SPL Board/company/management set up is lacking morals, guts, the ability to actually run a business or write a rule book. They are a complete joke.

Still in administration in 83 days time? Haudit & Daudit's bill would be 6.5 million, the SPL would have held 15 meetings, which would all have been adjourned as they 'were still seeking clarity', the Blue Knights would have submitted 10 new revised offers, and Sandy Jardine would have spontaneously self-combusted.

Someone wake me up when someone actually does something.
